I have to agree with alot of your comments at first it looks differant but it does grow on you. My wife got a 3.2 Quattro with sport package. My back ground I have owned 6 Porsches and currently own a C4s(all wheel drive), we traded in a 2004 Cayenne S. My wife had a 2000.5 A4 with the 2.8 and loved the car we moved down from Conn. We have driven everything out there to try.
I am very impressed with the whole car, it has good pick-up. The drive of the car is very good will be great when I get some springs and tires on it. It need some exhaust work no noise. It is a very solid car. Not to step on toes we drove the C-Class and really unless you get the AMG version and drop some money it doesn't compare. The BMW the 3 is to small and the 5 is a great car but again some big bucks to get the same as what you get in the A4.
My wife loves the car she commutes on the Highway alot so the car gets it's work out. Believe me. I am looking forward to doing some mods. I thinks I want to put PSS-9s on it and goto a 245-35-19 tires as soon as I find some I like. I will look into some exhaust stuff to give it the German sound it needs. Well that is what I think so far. I will post pics soon needs to stop raining.
