So when i push the Quattro button on my 1993 90S to engage the quattro, it turns off after about 20 mph. Is that supposed to happen? I know the Quattro is always engaged on my A4 but I'm wondering if my 90 is in need of repair or what...??

The quattro system is full time...it's always on. The button in your 90 should be for locking the center differential, and you shouldn't even really have to use this...unless you're stuck on ice or in snow.

It's like Illusive90s wrote; The Quattro system is a permanent 4x4 system, its always on. The button is to lock the rear differential.

And to not cause any harm to the rear diff. it switches the lock off if you drive faster than 25km/h. But if you want to have it on all the time, you can just open your center dash between your front seats and cut the blue wire if i remember it correctly. (don't do it without checking it out first) But you should'n have any need to have it on all the time anyway...

gecco, would there ever be any real need to have the rear diff on all the time?

If you'r track racing on a wet an slippery track and just want to drive sideways, it "helps" a bit ;)
