Yesterday, my dad traded is S430 4Matic in for a 05 A8, Silver/Black. The car is sweet, I only took it for a short drive so far, but I think its an awsome car. Here are some pics and a crappy pic of the all wood wheel (I was to lazy to go get the car keys).

My Dad just picked up an A8 as well. He wants to pick up a set of A8 wheels something bigger. He has the same wheels as you do.
He also hates the rust on the brake calipers a plate that is rusted on the calipers. I think that is going to be my project this week to paint them, maybe black.

It turns out it was just a leak somewhere with one of the tubes, not sure where it was though but my dad told me it was an easy fix. By the way, he loves the A8, he cant stop raving about it. Just thought I would share.

Thanks for the update. The B6 S4s are having some coolant leak issues with the 4.2, which takes a major engine re-seal. Theres no offical number of how many are doing it, so it may be very few. Glad to hear you didnt have to deal with it!

Im glad that didnt have to happen either, he would have been pissed with only a couple hundred miles on it.

As another note about that car, my dad said the other day he drove 340 miles in one day, he filled up and only took 13 gallons, I know he drives easy and doesnt push the car, but that amazed me....with the car only having 2000m on it.

If I cruise at 70mph on flat road, I can easily get 25mpg. Even though the new 4.2 has 30-40 hp more, I should do about the same. Its the in-town driving that kills!! 9-13mpg [eek]

Thats pretty good, I have been averaging 23mpg with the 1.8t with a mix of highway/city driving
