nitto nt555 or neogens are pretty good

Nitto NT555's are the farthest tire from all season lol. I had those on my C63 and whenever it rained my ESP light would go off like an Xmas tree.

I always recommend the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Decent price, decent performance, and good tread life

Without the correct throttle control the ESP light in a C63 (excluding Sport and OFF) will blink like a Christmas tree even with PS2 Cup's in the dry :)

This is a true statement lol, but x10 with the Nitto's. The Nitto NT555 is an excellent tire for dry weather and probably the best track tire I've used. I also got 11.5k miles out of them on my C63 which was 2x longer then the stock Pirelli PZero's. ANY wet weather though, and they were down right scary.

yes, denver. we don't get as much snow as the mountains so i don't bother with snow tires. my all season tires run great when it does snow.

i read on other forums that the nittos slip and slide in the snow, so i'll stay away from those.. thanks for the info.

thanks for the reco.. will see if these are available. my forgestar 19x10's will be ready next week.. hoping it won't get even more delayed with this backorder tire situation.

I've always had positive results with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Pluses.

Falken 912's have been good in the snow. I bought DWS' but didn't mount them yet.
I got through the NYC Blizzard in my Falkens fine.
They handle great on pavement and they are inexpensive.
Just run the PSI higher as the sidewalls are a bit on the soft side.

I just had my crappy GY Eagle LS2s replaced due to a road noise issue.....I went with Michelin Pilot MXM4s and they resulted in the smoothest ride I've ever had. The only thing negative was that I can't feel the road as much as with the LS2s but got used to that very quickly.

You might consider Bridgestone Potenza RE960s ... I've had them on multiple cars with great wet traction and dry traction and good snow performance for an AS. Consistently high ratings at TireRack.

I've just put these on my car & have been so far very happy with them over the shit Rosso's that came stock on the car & wore out after 12k miles :)

Have you tried different sites or just Tire Rack? I just got DWS' on my B6 A4 about 3 weeks ago and Tire Rack said they were back ordered, so I bought them from Discount Tire Direct

Exactly what I have. Love them. Handled the Blizzard in NYC as well as unplowed streets in Jersey and PA with ease.

thanks all for the info. lot's of tires on backorder. went with the toyo proxes 4's. taking reco's on all season tires from a guy who lives in fresno isn't ideal, but when you balance the knowledge blake (aka The Mayor) has, i went with it. other online reviews were positive as well. will find out soon enough.

Awesome. I'm glad you understand that our experiences may be different based on where we live, but they're a solid tire, regardless. The other good thing is that the shape of their sidewall is very "fender friendly" while many other all-season tires are the exact opposite, in my experience. What size did you go with?

255/35/19. The only size that would work with the 19x10 in the front.

I guess it depends how you feel about stretching tires, but 245's would stretch pretty nicely over 10"s. Nght&DayB8 is stretching 235's over 10"s in front, though that's a bit extreme for me. You might test fit one of the 255's before mounting them all in case you're forced to run 245's to avoid rubbing.

thanks for the advice. forgestar said the 255's would be a little stretched on the 10"s. i'm hoping their test fittings on the B8s are accurate and element wheels (where i ordered them) also stated the set up would work. fingers crossed. feel like i will either love this set up or hate it. no in between.

I had these on my Subaru and they did a fine job... relatively quiet, good wear, great traction wet/dry. Not sure they are the best in snow but did get me through a couple winters here in Stl just fine.

I'm on my third set of tires for the car, and I went with the Yokohama Avid Envigor. After the horrible Goodyear LS's that came with the car, I got GY Eagle GT's, which were OK, but they wore out in 15K miles (like the LS's). The Envigor tires are super quiet, and provide great traction, and the car has never felt better. Whatever you get, just make sure you find a place that uses the Hunter Road Force balancing equipment. Our cars seem to be sensitive to wheel balancing, so it's best to do it right so you don't have any vibration issues. You can use this link to find a local shop that has the equipment: http://www.gsp9700.com/pub/search/findgsp9700.cfm

Just this morning, experienced 6+" of snow in South Carolina (yes, South Carolina). I have Continental DWS's, and they were great in the snow. If you want a high-performance tire that is quiet and comfortable and very good in the snow, this is absolutely the best tire i've ever experienced. You do give up a bit in performance, but this tire has a lot of advantages. It may be worth waiting for them.

I swapped my DWS in this evening. I scrapped the sidewall on one of my Falkens this morning and took a chunk of rubber with it. No leak, but since I had the DWS' I just swapped them in.
They feel much lighter than my Falkens so now the steering and acceleration is easier. I'll get to try them in the snow tomorrow.

After about a week of running the DWS I gotta say they are the best All season's I've ever had.
Great in the snow/slush/ice.
Only lost traction slightly when taking a fast turn on an intersection.
On the highway, the tires are quiet and quicker than my Falkens due to the couple pounds saved per tire.
Able to drive pretty much how I normally do on dry pavement.
The tires absorb bumps pretty well. However, this could be due to the lower pressure.

The PSI is around 35F/36R right now from the shop and I'm not sure if this will give good rim protection from potholes.
Was considering upping this to near 40 like I had on the Falkens.

Hehe, everytime I see "all season tires" thread I laugh. And thats coz there are NOT SUCH thing like all season tires that are good all over the year.
And all those crazy movies from USA we can see during winter season just confirm that. U get 5cm with snow in USA and ppl are getting crazy. Cars sliding in each other etc.
I mean that everywhere u get snow and ice in winter you should have proper winter tires.
Thats how proper winter tire looks like:

No doubt that Snow Tires have their purpose.
But for getting around NYC, the DWS have been excellent.
My Falkens were ok also.
And no it was not just 5 cm that I had to drive through.
Check my rear-view mirror.

I must agree that the majority of drivers in the USA can't drive lol. I work in public safety and I'm always amazed at where and how people wreck. Isn't it Norway or Finland where a skidpan is part of your drivers traing to obtain a license?

My cheap 2 cents.
My '09 P+ 3.2L came with 17" P6's. Took it up to Yosemite a month following purchase on OEM suspension. Driving on twisty up & down CA highways, they didn't feel like I'd go over a cliff, yet at same time didn't inspire me to really push them[:o]
Two months later put Bridgestone RE960 A/S with VMR 18" rims and H&R springs - huge improvement[:)]
The Bridgestones are nosier, but superior road feel/response.
Since May, have KW V1 coil overs - more improvement[:d]
IMHO AudiUSA supplies A/S tires on our rides for all the A4 purchasers that are not on our forum - not superior performing, yet keeps the sticker price down.
Cheers[drive]

Most of the videos you see are from people who have no clue about tires. They have "tires" and that's it.

I've seen videos of stupid snow accidents overseas as well. Don't act as if it's only "from USA." That's ignorant.
