The obvious thing would be that i have a bad seal on the front window as it has ice on the inside. the ice is building up around the pillars and covering the entire front windshield! WTF, this is a first! takes me 30 minutes to remove it. Gotta call the dealer to see if they can get an apointment to look at it. This happen to anyone else?
will let you know what they say

Beggin' your pardon in advance, have you read though the convoluted and complicated owner manual instructions re climate control settings?
Thinking you may have something set that causes this - for example AC on when heat s/b on?
Knowing MidWest weather conditions are nasty at present[:o]
Good Luck.

All that tells me is that it's extremely humid in the car. This will happen on any car. Let it run for a while, with the heat on vented to OUTSIDE not recirculate.
Re control settings... hit auto, set to 22C (or whatever crazy imperial equivalent that is) and you should be set. Let it run for a while (not in an enclosed space... but outside, this will also happen in a sealed in parking garage)

I have experienced this before with a car that had a leak, only a very minor leak (and the leak was in the trunk) but it was enough to cause ice to form on the whole windshield. Good luck, hopefully you don't have a leak somewhere.

Could also be snow brought in from people not tapping their shoes. I lent my A4 out for a day only to get into it the next morning with ice inside much like you stated. I blasted the heat, removed and dried the winter mats and all is well again.
Here's hoping you don't have a seal problem.
Do you drive with the recirculation on? It's not the best idea during the winter months as condensation builds up quick.
Good luck.
