2011 Audi A4 Quattro Premium Plus with Titanium

It was hard to find the PP model with Titanium in the color I wanted, but I finally did. I couldn't find it with NAV, so I just got it without. Does anyone know if I can buy the NAV after the fact from the dealer and have them install it? Is it possible?

I may be wrong about 2011 models, but the navigation for the B8 is a lot more than just a nav head unit that you can swap out.

You also get the backup camera, and the center console controls. This all seems a lot of labor to replace beyond the factory, so i doubt it is possible or worth the money.

unless i'm wrong, the premium plus model, which includes the ipod interface, is a stripped down MMI? i would think it's ripe for the install, but have no clue.

i bought the car yesterday but don't take delivery until tomorrow, when it gets off the truck, so i can't look at the console. the backup camera is a valid point.

The controls also go from the dash w/o Nav to the center console behind the shifter w/Nav.

So that would be extra parts and pretty labor intensive to swap and install.

No, you cannot retrofit MMI with nav on a B8 A4. Non-nav is not stripped down MMI, it is not MMI at all. It looks similar to MMI, but it is not.
Non nav is like a fancy regular radio. The controls are on the dash (the console is blank) and the screen is in the same location as on MMI. The interface of the radio is made to look similar to MMI.

MMI cars have all radio/nav equipment stored in the trunk. It is linked to the rest of the car with fiber optic cable. The screen is a bit larger, and the controls are on the console.
This is the reason why retrofitting nav is not an option. You would have to pay the (ridiculously high) prices for all the (multiple) MMI components. You would also have to rewire a lot of your car to change it over to the MOST system that MMI uses. Parts alone would probably be close to $8000.

Of course it is possible, but the expensive and difficultly level of the install make it easier to just buy a car with nav.

yes and you can still do your nav in your P+ car if you are loaded with money, maybe at 1/3 of the price of your car lol

It has one sd slot that can take SDHC... Non-nav is still pretty capable...

you can see the slot in my first pic, right below the "<" button...

Welcome to the Titanium club! I believe there's an after market system you can add to the car. You will not gain the console controls though. If you dig around here you can probably find threads on it. What color did you get? So far we've got Quartz, White, Deep Sea Blue, and a red on here. We just got in a Black Titanium Avant at work and it is SWEET!

Premium Plus (Titanium package) Avant in Red!!! Ordered it on my 50th birthday at the beginning of October and got word today that it is at the dealership. Need to get the snow tires to them (live in MN and the summer tires just won't do in the snow/ice), have it prepped and pick it up next week.

I just agreed to pick up this exact same car. I specifically didnt want the NAV or any other options other then Ibis White, Premium + with the Ti sport package. I think the black trim with the white looks great.

Does yours have the NAV?

Just bought one myself, no Nav, but had Bang & Olufsen sound - its worth it!
Was completely surprised the dealer had the exact car I wanted in the lot. Audi dealer from another state told me couldn't find one in Audi's inventory in the country, it was meant to be =)

Yes, the titanium package is not easy to come by. 6-speeds in general are uncommon to begin with. It doesn't take much before you are looking for something that doesn't exist. Luckily there just happened to be an Ibis White, 6-sp, quattro, P+ with titanium package and NO other options being built already so I didn't have to special order it cuting my wait time in half.

This is a sweet spot in for the A4 in my opnion, if one options out Prestige w/ S-Line you can be in S4 category and the car no longer makes sense.

Dealer said it was the only one in California at the time, they had a hell of a time finding the car. It just came into port a few days before I bought it.

I saw on the S4 forums the 2011 order guide says non-nav has a color DIS screen now (the screen between speedo and tach). Does your non-nav 2011 have color DIS by chance?

In my opnion the 6-speed should not have nav. that button clutter all around the stick for nav is ridiculous

Made sense to me, there was not one S4 in our region optioned out in the color that we wanted without paying darn near 60 grand with tax. The brilliant black Prestige we saw on the lot burned an image in our minds as being *exactly* what we wanted in the first place, just a tad spendy, we shopped around but kept coming back to it and finally got it. Freaking awesome car!

On another note, I shot a great assignment for the New York Times over the weekend. Audi was one of the sponsors, had product on hand, Q7, A8 and one R8. On the way home, I get to the roundabout and I see three new black A8's with dealer plates go past in a line and see one more coming, so I pulled a hole shot in front of him and joined the parade. My wife and I got a good laugh out of it for sure. The headlight LED's on the A8 are sick! Audis have got to be our town's official car, Subbies if you are cash poor...[evilsmile]
