I was backed into a little while ago and the driver side fender was the receiving end of the damage. On the fender the most forward part of the portion that is above the light was bent. Very minimally and initially I didn't even think it was damaged. Can that small "tab" be sowly bent back with the application of some heat? It's barely bent and rather than shelling out 500-700 bucks I figured I'd give it a try first.

Definitely try to bend it back since you have nothing to lose. When my car was hit I found a recycled fender that was in the right color for 100 bucks.

worse comes to worse, a heat gun, and a mallet banging on some cloth from the inside can bring surprising results.
