Please help thanks

You will get much more gain from the 2.0t if you chip.

what is the max power I can get out of the 2.0 or the 3.2
I had a 03 cl-s with intake, exhaust, headers and the whole 9 and it had a little over 300hp at the crank. Is there any way I can get close to this number with an A4.

Both are still too new to say, but seeing the history the 1.8T had, odds are that the 2.0T will be the most tunable. It's got more going for it, but will just take time for the tuners to R&D and come out with products.
Chips and engine upgrade options are beginning to hit the market in Europe, with average increases in the 30 HP range off software alone.

MTM, Upsolute i believe is another. They're trickling out dont fret it'll make it here as well. There's some US based companies that are starting to work on these new motors as well REVO and Neuspeed are two that i know of first hand.

That's what i'd do. New cars are overrated. Plus the 4.2 ownes the 2.0T & 3.2.

Well if we are getting 300+ from a 170hp 1.8t, then I'd expect at least coming close to a stock S4 numers when tuning options become available. Think GT28RS on a 2.OL block!!

i read that right now, in germany, they're getting 240 hp out of 2.0 with just a chip. add another 15 for exhaust and you're looking at an easy 255. not bad.

With all due respect, I loved the sound of my 1.8t. It was pure music to my ears, truly. However, I know everyone does not like the same music.
I recently sold my A4 and am seriously looking into getting another, the B7 with either the 2.0t or the 3.2. The price isn't the issue. The issue to me is how each drives. If the 2.0t is sufficiently fast, due to its weight advantage, I might go for it. I haven't driven either yet, but articles I've read say the 2.0t has a truly great sound.
However, when I pleaded with my dad once to get a Mercedes, he said if everyone liked what I (he) like they'd all drive a dark blue Cadillac with a dark blue naugahyde top on it. With that remark duly noted I decided, yep, each to his own. So I DO respect your aforementioned opinion.

audi designers are not worried about what the tuning world thinks [down] they are targeting middle aged well-to-do people its probably going after the Bmw 330 we will grow to like it :)

get the 2.0t, a lot more tuning capability will be available if your looking to do any such mods....just gve it time and the aftermarket will catch up...
