Hey there audi lovers! I'm currently working on making my own custom LED tail lights. Which I want to make completely LEDs.
I need to find a DIY or ATLEAST a picture of the plastic that covers the tail lights baked off... you know, I want to see the inside of them without taking mine apart yet, so I know what I'm getting into. PLEASE help me..
I tried to find anything on google, then searched it here. Its for a good cause!::http://www.audiforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=157213

You can easy check yours, just unplug the wires and remove the bulb holder , and there are 4 bolts that hold the taillight, easy to do, then you can take photos, I have doubts that anyone have done what you are doing, usually people will buy new taillight with LED installed

at least that cost of materials and LED will run to ~100-150 per taillight

Thanks for your honest post audifirst, yeah I know it might run a little more, but it will be more unique than any b5 audi, maybe.. lol and most cars too. But we'll see, since the inside of the tail lights, the plastic has red in it already, but i'm probably gunna have to buy after market tail lights that have a clear tail light, so that when I tint it and add the LEDs it will shine right through.

Couple days ago I was at electronic store, that sells DIY boards, bulbs, diodes, everything you can imagine, and I look at these LED that were on the strip maybe less then half inch wide by 10 inch long with wires on each end, and I thought that with some design you can installed them into taillights put them on the top of each other crate a base to glue them wire them up , add small circuit board to maintain the voltage through the line,
cutting the back of the taillight with dremel open mount the base with glue , seal everything , it is possible, if you have money, will and time to do it, I would buy another set of taillight and practice on it
