Well yesterday was quite a day...

I did a home-depot run yesterday to pick up a few items...
I went out to lunch afterwards...

When I get back into the car, I was immediately struck by a strange smell...
I didn't even have to think about it - I ran out an popped the trunk... Of course, everything was soaking wet...
I pull everything out, and notice that a whole, extra large, bottle of windex (the kind you hook up to your hose) was completely empty.
The trunk mat was completely soaked... Relieved that the mat had soaked up everything, I packed everything back in and drove home...

When I got home I pulled everything out of the trunk.. (mat, spare tire, tools, etc.)
It turns out that when windex reacts with air it turns solid... There was a solid white substance ALL OVER the entire trunk deck, all over the battery & wires, inside the side compartment with radio equipment, and under the built in mat (where the silver hooks are connected to...)
I had to use a spoon to scrape it all off... - After ~4 hrs, I finally gave up...
I moved to cleaning the trunk mat - after spraying with a hose for ~1hr, suds were still coming out of it...

I am going to have the mat professionally cleaned.
I am also going to have my dealer replace the built in mat in the trunk (as it is soaked with solution)...

When it comes to windex - a little goes a long way [>_>]

the plastic trunk mat that audi sells for the car is a must imho... it has a lip to capture liquids.

x2. I've been meaning to pick one of those up, but only remember after it would have come in handy.
