We might get a new car... the lady was looking at a TT, the new Subaru Forrester, or a Mini. We will try to get it Assured if not new for sure, but repairs are still a PITA.

So my question is how well do the TTs hold up over time? Any specific differences/advantages to some MY over others? For example the 00 A4 has the newer interior and lights, but the 01 A4 has more power... etc etc.

I looked into them...the TT hasn't evolved as much as the A4. I wouldn't be afraid to get one, but get certified. I have heard the A platform is very reliable generally, perhaps more than the B platform. Keep in mind the Haldex cars behave quite a bit differently, including in the snow.

The only TT-R I am familar with is the 8 cylinder monsters from the DTM series. What do you have? Did you import it yourself?

The only major issue is a timing belt failure that can occur at 60,000+ miles (notable because the official Audi line is to replace the belt at 90,000+ miles).

Definitely get Assured if you buy used.
