View Full Version : LED wire to light the Audi emblem

Anyone ever done this? I've seen several custom BMW's and Japanese cars with backlit emblems. I guess they use the new LED wire to somehow achieve this mod. The rear emblem was done in red and acted like another brake light but it looked like the normal BMW emblem when not activated. The front emblems were in various colors but also looked 'normal' with the LED turned off.

I think it would be pretty cool to have this on my new Q5 with white LED wire making up the rings of the front badge.

That's it. I think using this as an additional brake light would be great. Wonder if this is a DIY kit or if it was a custom mod?

try www.aelindustry.com they have those and some other interesting items. they don't have any other colors that I know of. I am planing on picking some up myself.[wrench]

Are you able to produce an emblem that appears like the stock (chrome/silver) but has the LED's that shine through when they are turned on? I would like to have a front and rear badge that appear stock durring the day, but at night the fron't would light up white, and the rear would be red and I would integrate them into the breaklights. Thank you

information about Lighted Audi Emblems: Inside of our products there is a pcb which completly protucted by us.There are 92 items led on it.and all they are water resistant.At the same time pcb is flexible and means if we consider degree of the casing it wount be problem neither fitting nor use.Its too easy to fitting for us because of the double sided band which producted for us by 3m company.Electrical connection just work on 12v and electrical system deisgned simple and mostly 5 minutes for use on the car.As you know 12V is standart electric emission of the car and i assure you it wount be turn to light of the malfunction light.Please check to following Picture.

What are the sizes of these? I'd like to get this one (http://www.hgtuning.com/en/urun_detay.asp?K=1&M=2&KID=38&UID=21&s=&ss=Lighted%20Logo%20Black%20And%20Red) to put on the trunk of my B5 to hook up with my brake lights... But my trunk emblem is 7"x2 1/4", and I'm guessing these emblems are all designed for the front which is around 10 3/4"x3 3/4"... I checked, and I definitely can't fit an emblem that big on the trunk.

you are right. these embles for just front. and you cant fit an emblem on the trunk. sorry :(

That may be, but I bet that within 5 years you'll start seeing this feature on many new cars probably starting with the Euro models first. Car makers are always looking for ways to make their models stand out and this will appeal to many of them. Remember, many people thought that the Audi LED drl's were tacky when they first came out, now everyone is jumping on the bandwagon.
