Ouch. When I did that in my civic I got a hanger and broke through the weather stripping to hit the unlock button on the inside...but I dunno if you want to do that with such a nice car. Your car also should have come with two sets of keys so get someone to drive the other set to you.

I actually did this one too (while tinting my tails), I left my keys in the trunk. Thankfully the front windows were open and my friend was able to climb in through the front into the trunk and get the keys...PHEW!

That doesn't work in most new cars Chris. I haven't checked with the Audi yet but know with my grand prix the lock buttons don't work w/o the key in the ignition. I don't think Audi has anything like onstar that unlocks your doors for you either....guess you'll need someone to drive the keys to you or pay a lot of money for a locksmith.

haha yes that is exactly my current situation. I don't know how to get out of my car because it's locked. luckily I have my netbook and I'm parked outside of starbucks!!
I tried doing the hangar thing but it seems like the clearance is purposely realllllllly tight to prevent allowing the hangar through the weather stripping. In googling I read that somewhere else, that the sills are built that way. My 2nd set of keys is at home ~1hr away and I could get a ride there but I figured I'd check here and see if anyone had a better, quicker idea.

The keys are in the trunk. Went to change into my bathing suit ** put it on right in the driveway. Laid my jeans into the trunk and thought " don't do that, no reason to keep coming out to the car to change," but then I did it anyway. Closed the trunk in slow motion and as it hit the latch it gave the beep to say "ok back to being locked!"
I wasn't too concerned because I've unlocked other cars with a hangar through the window but Audi seems to have thought of that and prevented it :(

Second that on the roadside assistance. They should be able to help with situations like this.

You need this
http://www.bridgat.com/files/Auto_Locksmith_Tools.jpg
so you can get enough gap in the door and body to slide in metal rod to pop the door handle, not the door lock. That's what a locksmith would do.
The keys are in the trunk. Went to change into my bathing suit
Pervert Pr0n says: this thread needs pics.
As others have said, the car still (most likely) has roadside assitance, or you could try this:

Do you have the smart unlock buttons on the side of the car? If so just try using that to lock / unlock your car (your key may not be in proximity though).

My friend did this in his 325i. His car was in his driveway but he only had one key. Locksmith couldn't do anything so he had to order a new key and just wait...Took like 4 days. At least you do have a second key so you won't have to shell out $300+ (I think BMW charged him $450!) and have to wait for days.

This happened to me while i was leaving the hospital, two days after my son was born. AAA could get in with their any of there tools. The spare key is all that worked in my situation. The dealer may be your only help.

Your best bet is Audi Roadside Assistance. In the mean while, good luck man.

Don't you get more than one set of keys? Get a ride home, get the other key, come back???

is there anyway to disable the lock if you open the trunk with the key? for example the car won't lock if you close the trunk after you've opened it with the key. i know for a fact my dumbass will be on here with this same exact topic lol. davidB8 where you at? are you working on this?

This may be another of my dumb ideas but can you remove one of the rear lights and see if there is any access to the trunk then maybe go fishing with a hanger? Although im guessing the screws to rear lights are inside the trunk.

Bingo. No way to remove the rear lights without obliterating them.

His keys are locked in the trunk... And yes, I'm pretty sure that is possible - not sure about the advanced key system - can you still lock your keys in the car with that?

Cars with advance key will not allow the trunk to be closed if the doors are locked and the key in or very near the trunk. It will pop right back open.

Will have to give that a try..since I have the advanced key and have locked keys in the trunk. (luckily I was at home and had the other set of keys inside)

Haha hey guys sorry for the delay. I was joking about starbucks in regards to the Family Guy pic. I was visiting my ex-gf at her uncle's house and changed in the driveway. I tried to get in with a hanger as I mentioned but the clearance was too tight. Just sliced the inner rubber a little bit :(
I called Audi Roadside and they said they don't cover lost or damaged keys (need to speak with the dealer to pay for a new one), but if the key is LOCKED INSIDE THE CAR, it's covered. Within an hour they sent a contracted company and the guy came with the air wedge pictured above, which looks like a blood pressure cuff. He got the door open and the alarm went off and if the alarm is activated the switch to open the trunk DOES NOT WORK. He said "I hope you have some way of getting into the trunk because I don't". Luckily, I had never locked the fold down rear seats so I opened one of those and crawled into the trunk. Gave the guy a $20 and that was it. Took him about 35 seconds, and I continued drinking :)
If you have the convenience key on a Prestige, then this can't happen. And even if it did you could just enter with the button on the door. I obviously don't have that. I loved the feature on my IS 250, not sure why I didn't get it on my Audi :( But yeah, Roadside does cover this and it was super easy after I called them, even considering I was not the original owner of the car.
Thanks for your help!

damn, $20 tip for the roadside guy! you high roller. I gave my guy a measly $5 to grab a coffee and he was taken back - 99.999% of the time they don't get a tip, according to him. haha.

Let's see if I have this scenario clear[:(]
You weren't at Starbucks for a double latte with exposure.
You were at your ex-girlfriends' uncles place when this disaster occurred?
What were you doing visiting an ex-girlfriend?

Haha is $20 high? I dunno. I gamble a bit and $20 tips are not out of the norm at all for good service.

She was up in NY, and she's only up once or twice a year. So I try to see her when she heads this way. We dated like 4+ years ago so we're friends now with no hard feelings.
