Any way to darken daytime driving lights?

Is there any way I can darken my daytimes on my C5 A6.

Mine are currently WAYYY too bright
they outshine my foglights by at least 20 times.

If I turn them on for normal driving I get high beamed all the time.

I was wondering if there was some kind of film that I can put on top of the glass to maybe darken them a little? (like a tint?)

I have 8000k hid bulbs

I don't have the VAG-COM equipment/software, but I've seen other posts saying that the brightness can be adjusted using this product. I've also read that the default setting in the US is actually only 10% of the brightness. If that's true... I'd hate to see them any brighter or they might blind on-coming traffic.
