Shipping From AUS to US

Hi all! I'm looking into having something shipped from Melbourne to the US (Portland, Oregon). Fedex quotes are thru the roof so I'm looking for another shipping company. Anybody have any recommendations for cheap, yet reliable, shipping to the US. So far the cheapest I have found was thru Australia Post. Thanks for the input!

Typically the local post companies of the countries are always the cheapest way with international mail. They don't offer tracking in most cases but I never lost anything in the mail. I have made multiple very good experiences with shipping from germany to australia through standard post. Surprisingly quick! I'd say go for it but beware of the basics: Huge adress labels on more than one side in addition to the official address sticker. Thick wrapping.

There was a post on RS6.com about a username HEADSHOT that shipped RS6 Recaros (not offered in the US cars) from Japan to Long Beach via a shipping container company.
It took 3 weeks but he got it and things were as they should be, safe and sound.
