You will get with our complete supercharger system incl. a watercooled intertercooler 420 hp and 500 NM torque. Our supercharger is made by ASA engineering.

The exhaust system is under preparation and it looks wunderful. It's a complete exhaust with sport catalyic converters in stainless steel handmade in Bavaria with a top sound and with a wonderful power increae. We think that we will get with this system 15 hp (realy) and 10-15 Nm torque more. This price is not calculated for the moment.

The export price for this supercharger system is 16.000.- Euro and we can deliver this kit in June/ July.

If you have further questions please fell free to ask me.

Best regards

Supposedly ASA makes excellent superchargers for BMW's.

That they do :)

16,000 Euro is almost 20K USD right now. And it is 100 HP lower than what Walter will be getting from Motodyne - factoring that we take both company claims at their word. If Motodyne delivers - then I can't see any sort of market for this - as it is more expensive with a lot less gains.

some other companies.

APR 450HP~500HP $7500~8G

AMS at least 100HP gain. they need 6 weeks to make the kit which is .......

God that's a ridiculous price. The S/C kits for the E46 M3 are sustantially less than that. Even Dinan (with the engine/ drivetrain warranty for the life of the factory warranty) is going to cast less than that. For than matter, the Active Autowerks one is $8600. For $20K I could sell my S4 and buy either an M3 with S/C and more, or just buy a 1-2 year old porsche C4S and go on down the road.

Now, I can see, but wouldn't pay, $20K for a biturbo system for the S4... Even then, I'd still expect it to include a rebuild of the whole motor.

Keep in mind that everything between the heads, gets replaced on the motodyne kit that is. But now it looks like a few others are surfacing with a similar design.
It is my understanding that the variable geometry intake does not apply when under pressure. One of the reasons I went with motodyne is they were the first to acknowledge this. You can't do a centrifugal supercharger like a Mustang 4.6 or BMW setup and expect it to work with Audi's intake manifold. My Audi mechanic and his coworkers clarified this with me, and even helped my decide which forced induction kit to purchase
These high dollar SC Audi kit's are probably priced this way because they include a major engine part, i.e. intake manifold

"a watercooled intertercooler 420 hp and 500 NM torque"

how come so little power? someone with downpipes, exhaust, intake, and chip dyno'd right around 400hp. so SC is only 20 more hp than the bolt on mods?

Admittedly, the intake manifold is going to be somewhat expensive, the local stealership wants $1025 for a new stock one, but that still doen't justify $20000 for an S/C kit, even with research costs, especially not with such paltry gains.

yea 20K and rebuilt motor I would expect more near 600HP.

FYI Evosport has a 20K S/C kit for the E46 M3 with a rebuilt motor and it makes near or over 600hp. I wouldn't expect anything less out of the S4 engine especially with 2 extra cylinders and more displacement...

If you trust EVO sport... Sorry, I have a friend who just quit them because he got tired of working for people who claimed to be able to do things to cars that they had never experimented with, they had just read about them online.

I think your forgetting that an Audi intake is 1 thousand dollars and change because it's mass produced, a limited production supercharger manifold could cost in excess of 7-8 grand.
A lot of European tuners use the Sh#$ty'est compressor housings, probably why the kits they offer for 20 plus grand is only able to make like 70hp

well I never said I liked Evosport (I think they overcharge up the ass for everything) but just comparing the price to power ratio you can get from tuners. The ones being offered for the S4 hardly seem like a good deal...

Barrett, assuming we're talking about the same Evosport (I think there are 4 on the internet right now). They're big time MB tuners, and do some other stuff too.

Well, it turns out that I was mistaken here. Barrett actually quit because he wanted to focus more on racing than the Evosport folks who were more interested in street moddding of cars. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, which is what happens when information is passed through three people before getting to you... As it turns out, he is quite confident in Evosports quality and reliability, just not happy with the direction they were going. It turns out that what they were getting off the internet was not tech specs, but the desired direction that people doing street mods wanted. My fault, and once again I apologise.

I haven't seen anything about the availability of high performance cams??? Maybe a port and polish on the heads, cams, ECU, exhaust, and intake would give a cheaper and easier alternative? I am new the forums and don't pick up my S4 for another few days so I am looking for ideas.
