I think it's coming back to me. Someone was claiming an S-Line was their S4 or visa verse. And the car belonged to someone on Audizine that the kid was claiming was his. There was some sortta crap about getting this so called S4 without S4 options because he didn't like them or something.

well the guy shot back a very nasty reply refusing...

That's terrible. Some kids are so pathetic. I hope you are successful in having the video removed. I've had people post advertisements using pictures of my cars on AutoTrader before, but they refused to remove the ad. I've also had limited success in having overseas vendors ebay ads removed where they've used pictures of my car with mods that I didn't even purchase from them. Annoying indeed.

Most people and companies are pretty good about letting you use pictures if you ask. I've been contacting a lot of places and people lately asking if I can use their pictures and no one has said no yet. Normally they just don't want them altered or used for profit.

What annoys me is that the video description is "look at my new 2011 Audi A4" and it has well over 3K views (and steadily rising)
His message back to me was basically saying f off, your not going to be able to do anything... Well he will see that he is wrong about that...

don't worry about it man--best case scenario the movie is taken down. worst case it's not. out of 3k views, it could be that 10% came from AZ (seeing as this thread has 323 views) and he disabled all comments etc. so nobody's going "NICE CAR!!!" ** anyone who is viewing the video is probably an audi enthusiast and realizes the video is bullshit and thinks the guy's a tool anyway.

a couple years ago somebody stole a guy's car pix and tried to sell his own car on craigslist. the real owner's car was in new mexico and the listing was in like north dakota or something. needless to say it was taken cared of similarly but the whole incident was just plain funny. unfortunately one can easily created another account on youtube using a different email. they need a better IP banning program.

I had this too when I had my TT. A store selling TT parts used my picture of my car due to it having RS6 wheels on it. They were also on a forum I used and didn't ask first. It took about 5 escalating emails to get them to remove it.


I'm glad Youtube backed you up.

Actually, yes. That's what the metadata us for. Set your camera up with your information and your flickr with copyright info. Problem solved. No companies can use your photo without your permission. I'm a photographer, so I run into this issue a lot.
