Ladies, and gentlemen... I'm here to officially invite you all to what I've decided to name the first official February Fling. I'm in the initial planning phase right now and am working with a few sponsors in hopes that they will be able to help with raffle prizes in exchange for advertisements, and I'm still looking for a definite location within the Charlotte area. As of now, I realize the South Florida GTG is going to be on the 18th, and hopefully I'm not cutting it too close by shooting for the 26th, but that's the date we're planning to aim for as of this point in time. If we decide that it's going to be inconvenient for the majority of people interested in attending, we can reschedule for March--Only down side to that is that it will no longer be a February Fling if it's in March.
We will have a REVO dealer on site, ready and available to do software installs. If you've been craving more power lately, this will be the perfect time to have your software installed. I'll be happy to answer any questions I can about that, but you'll have to talk to me privately.

I'm looking for a solid place to hold this event. I'm very familiar with the area, but will have to do a little bit more research on when and where we will be setting up. I'd definitely like to find somewhere we can cook up some hot dogs and burgers, at the least. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them out. There will be several people attending from Florida, Georgia, and Virginia that I can count on as of now, and I'm sure you Charlotte locals will be there! I need a head count, folks. I need to know who's interested in attending, and who's interested in the REVO software so we can have enough credits to get everyone what they need.

More details will be added along the way, but if you guys have any questions or comments, feel free to ask. I'll keep you updated as I find out more information!

Invite your friends, your family, and your local enthusiasts. It's going to be a blast!

UPDATE: Official location is as follows...

Morris Costumes
6900 Morris Estate Dr.
charlotte, NC 28262-2452

Directions:

From I-85:
Take Exit 45 West
Continue on WT Harris (Westbound) for 1.1 miles
Take a left at the intersection of Mallard Creek Road
Go approximately 1.1 miles
Turn left onto Morris Estate Drive.

From I-77:
Take Exit 18 Eastbound
Go 4.5 miles to the Mallard Creek Road intersection; Turn right
1.1 miles on Mallard Creek Road
Left onto Morris Estate Drive

If you're using some sort of internet mapping tool, you may need to look for "Solectron Drive" off of Mallard Creek Road as it may or may not have been updated.
There will NOT be any sort of additional signs put upon approaching and/or entering the park, as they do not want to draw any unnecessary attention for unwelcome guests. Please make sure if you've posted this information on other forums that it is accurate and that they know the thread has been updated with directions and official information.

We'll start up at around noon and I plan to stay until everyone thins out. If anyone would like to lead us all on a somewhat organized cruise, I know a lot of people would be interested. I don't know the area well enough to take the lead, but love nice cruises! We're still working on a few official sponsors, but so far as I said before, we've got our hands on a couple nice prizes to give away in the raffle. We're also hoping to have a grill to do up some nice hot dogs and hamburgers. I ask that you do not bring any alcoholic beverages unless it's said to be okay otherwise by Sean Morris.

It's very generous of them to let us use their beautiful property for our get-together, so I don't want to see anyone messing this event up. Don't leave trash behind, and don't do anything stupid in the parking lot. No stunts in the parking lot; Lets keep it cool, everyone. We want to have fun, but I don't want to abuse the priviledge of having this lot to use. If things go well, we'll do it again next year, only bigger and better!

many will attend around the area, along with the VAPOR Charlotte crowd, and a large DTMPower.net crowd. The supra crowd is catching on as well.

Represent your audis!

I haven't decided whether I'll roll up in the stock a4 yet or not :o!

g60wcorrado

it doesn't have to be stock when you leave [drive]

I've told the businesses to bring alot of 1.8t stuff, since about 70% of the VWs/audis will be 1.8s. Maybe you can find something interesting.

Man I wish I could have made this!! But, the wifey is ill (getting better though) and I had already said I wouldn't be making it... (to Morio anyway).

Any pics Sean? Can't wait to see them! Did you get to see Scott's Jetta (APR Stage 3+) dyno? WOW! 305hp at the wheels![hail]

SeanF
02-26-2005, 09:37 PM
man i missed a bunch of cars...

i missed the porches, and most audis... all that was there when i got there were bmw's vw's supras...

saw a supra dyno at 309 at the rear wheels...

wish i could have seen the jetta dyno...

saw some jetta with too much badging... had a BORA badge, a porche turbo badge and an rs4 badge :-\ hope it this wasnt Scott's jetta, as i dont know who that is...

i wish i could have made it earlier, and my car was a mess... so i parked in the back...

HAHAHA!!! No, Scott's Jetta is the epitome of sleeper for the most part. It's a dark blue Jetta with an aftermarket front bumper and Audi TT 225 wheels. Of course, it's a SIII+, so it has a fmic, but that's really the only tell-tale sign. Nice and subtle, until he nails it! WOW!! It is a fun ride. His future daughter will LOVE to come home from the hospital in it! (she's due in April). Then again, he should be able to get his wife to the hospital plenty quick![:p]

Here's a video of Scott's car on the dyno. Yes, the vid is pretty bad, but the sound is there. Sounds nice. BTW, APR exhaust too. I'll see if Scott can scan in his dyno plot. I believe it was a dynojet dyno too.
