So I'm a real big fan of the A3, in case anyone didn't already know. Would have bought one a few years ago instead of the GTI if it were available.

While I'd prefer one with quattro, they won't be available as such initially. The wait could be up to a year. Well, I don't think I can wait that long.

Anyway, what do you think of the new A3?

No money to upgade anytime soon, but I like em.

I'd like to wait until more news/parts come out for the 2.0 liter, and see how they hold up, with the larger engine, and quattro..Although an R32 may be a better investment, as I like their styling a bit more.

im not a big fan of it. maybe if they put a bi turbo in it it might be kinda cool, but the styling ive seen so far im not a big fan of it. I probably wouldnt buy one though, I'm not really sure what their main market will be. maybe middle age people?

I'd take an S3, if it ever makes to this side of the Atlantic.

I'll be doing a two or three year lease, with the hopes that a higher output version will be released in the coming few years.

unfortunately, my plan is to let my son buy my a4 when he's 16 (2 and a half years from now). i will definitely consider this as my next purchase. but i also like the look of the new passat, so we'll see.

I just saw the sportback in person at the Portland Auto Show and I REALLY like it. I just wish it would come in a 3 door and that quattro would be available immediatly. I still will consider buying one in a year or so...

Being in Colorado, I'd wait for the quattro. Then I'd wait a little longer for the S3 [:D]

No official word yet. They say it'll be around the price of the current entry level B6, as they're going to raise the price a few thousand on the new B7. Partly because of the A3, partly because of the weak ass dollar. [:(]

A4 is getting to be too big for my taste. The A3 might be just the ticket(someday.)

I like the A3, but I think I'm more of a sedan person. A4 is more my cup of tea, maybe even the A6.

Im not a fan of the stock version at all. But i would like to see what it would look like with some 19's and a drop. That might change my mind a little.

I have no clue where the fascination with tiny cars comes from..

Sedan or coupes only for me.. no hatchbacks.

I'm sure some people will be digging it though.

A3 Quattro full blown S-line version... [:D]

The A3 Sportback (4-door) will arrive in American and Canadian showrooms in May. (Note: Mexico already has both A3 hatchback and A3 Sportback).
The base price will be about $25,000 (US) or $32,500 (CAN). Unfortunately, this is cutting close to the A4 base price, but Audi is betting on its name and the A3's sporty design.
It will initially only have FWD.
Quattro will come in early 2006.
According to my local Audi dealer, the A3 hatchback (2-door) and S3 MAY arrive at the end of 2006 in its facelifted form.
Hope that provides some people with some more info.

Personally, I will wait for the A3 hatchback (2-door).
In the meantime, I hope my petition gives Audi a nudge in the right direction :)

If the high end price for an A3 FWD 4cyl. is $28k and a TT 3.2 DSG is $40k then there's some indication of what an A3 3.2 DSG or S3 will cost.

VW still hasn't announced the new Golf5 Highline(Euro) model. In MK4 form I believe V6 and 4-Motion(Haldex) was an option. That would be a basic 2-door Golf AWD without the R32 stuff [:p] .

I would pick up an A3 hatch 2 door in Quattro or an S3 in a heartbeat! I just hope that petition helps out and they do release it here. I think they are kind of leery of releasing it because it might impact the Golf and GTI, but IMO, it would give buyers another option, and the GTI sales would still be there. It is a good transition for the people that love VW, but don't really want to spend the extra money on the Audi.

It would be a great move to bring the hatch over here, and it would benefit us all.

That is all.

Cool cars, just not for me. I do hope they bring the S3 over here, since Bimmer is talking seriously about brining its M2 over. That ought to make for some interesting competition...

the A3 is definately gorgeous but are they going to release the two door version, or are they only releasing four door?

Anthony

No word on the 3 door version for the US market. Just the 5 door for now.

I like it, yet when compared to the R32 and that you can get a V6 now rather than later I vote R32 !

I like the body styling better of the R32 compared to the A3.

The A3 is on the new mk5 Golf chassis whihc is a huge improvement on the mk4 which the R32 is...

Don't get me wrong as I love the R32, but the newer A3 offers better potential.
