New B7 Owner!

Hello everyone! I am in the final process of purchasing my 2007 Audi A4 S-line, Titanium, with the 6-speed manual. I fly out to pick it up Friday! As anxious as I am about finally getting it, I have quick question. I searched, but nothing came up so I apologize if this has been discussed previously. On the dash trim above the glove box, there is no quattro badge. I like the way it looks without it, but there is a quattro badge on the back trunk and it shows its quattro in the vin. Is this a common mod, that is easy to due?? I am just curious as to why it wouldnt be on the dash still.

Just out of curiosity,where did you buy your A4 Ti? I was looking at a couple in Connecticut.Closest I could find for me.

After searching Manhiem and other auction sites high and low, I came across one on Autotrader in Maryland that was exactly what I wanted, with the exception of RS4 wheels rather than the stock Titanium wheels. I may get the silver RS4's powder coated grey like the stock titanium wheels. They are out there, its just tough to come across them exactly how you want them configured, and with low miles for a good price.

Usually only the front-trak cvt A4s don't have the quattro badges... whered you check the VIN

Very easy mod to do though... just swap the trim pieces and debadge the rear

Its advertised as a quattro, it has rear quattro badges, and I have checked the vin on both the carfax, and I checked it as well at motoverse.com which says its a quattro. Theres no way its not a quattro then correct?

I'd like to think so, but call any dealer and check the VIN to verify... that'll definitely solve the question.

4th and 5th letters of the VIN should read EF for your car to be quattro.

there's one black on black Ti quattro in PA with 30k miles, with some mods available...

Be sure you look under the back and make sure it has a rear diff before you fork over the money, just to be sure. [:)]

haha definitely! I really cannot imagine it not being one if both carfax, and other vin checkers say it is and it has EF as the 4 and 5 spots in the vin#.

there ya go... congrats and if you're planning on chipping, i would just do it the day you pick up to a local place in MD so you enjoy the ride home that much more! Truly is night and day and only takes like 20 mins to get done via a laptop.

Then pick up an rs4 rear sway bar and DIY install... two best bang-4-buck mods available

Thanks for the info free flow. I plan on getting it chipped in the near future. It only has 29,000 on it and 10 months of warranty left, so I think I am going to put a few thousand miles on it and see how that goes, and then get it chipped by Vast performance tuning in Detroit nearing the end of my warranty so I don't void anything.

Any good place to start looking for RS4 rear sway???

Also, I plan on doing a lot of the basic maintenance myself. Does anyone have a good list of places/sponsors that they purchase maintenance and even good after market parts from?

There isn't a quattro badge on your trim because the Ti package comes w/ the Piano Black trim and for some reason they don't put it on..Just make sure it's really a Quattro car! lol

Yeah I have driven two other ones that had it inside. Unfortunately this one im buying is too far away for a quick drive, but based on all reports, its a quattro. If I get there and theres no rear diff there are going to be some serious problems at the dealership. I really think it was just removed by the previous owner as for the VIN matches up to quattro.

You should be ok, I don't think you can get the 6MT without it being quattro. AFAIK FWD is only the CVT multitronic shifter.

the other way to confirm quattro is to see which way your motor sits!!! Then you don't have to bend down to look beneath the car...just another thought!!

it sits like a quattro set up. the straight four runs paralell with the car, not perpendicular like most front wheel drives.
