2004 passat 4motion 1.8t hard to start!

Hey yall, I have a 2004 Passat 1.8T 4Motion Manual wngine code AMW. It has about 86k on it. I purchased it from a guy that blew the turbo all to hell. And so I replaced the turbo and a few other things. But once I got everything together it doesnt like to start on the first try. Once it starts it runs great, no stalling or hesitation.

The EPC light comes on when I try to start it and sometimes turns off and on when I drive...

Things I suspect...
1. I have both o2 sensor codes

Could the o2 sensors be fowled up from all the engine coolant that blew past the seals and into the exhaust pipe? (was blowing white smoke like crazy when I bought it).

2. I have a camshaft position sensor *no signal* error code

I have replaced the sensor to no avail, I also unplugged the sensor and it acts the same. I ohmed out the wires tot he harness by the fire wall and I am getting about 250 ohms which is ok i guess :confused: .

I replaced the crankshaft position sensor and that hasnt helped at all.

I did replace the camshaft position sensor, timing belt and the cam chain. I don't suspect this to be a problem associated with my work because it was acting the same way before I did anything to it.

ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED, I will get the codes later today and post them...

car will run and start w/out cam signal. ECU gets an input from somewhere else to figure out how to control fuel/ignition. But it will take a few cranks to get it started. I recommend replacing camshaft pos. sensor.
