Bend Oregon

I'm thinking about moving and Bend is one of the places I'm looking at. Anyone know anything about the area? Good or bad.

good - Mt. Bachelor, the beautiful scenery, the people.

bad - you're 5 hours away from Portland, 3 hours from Salem. shopping and such is limited.

overall it's a great place. IMO

Good = Beautiful and a great place if you are active

Bad = No jobs there for normal people, and most that live there are rich as hell and/or retired.

I should be ok with jobs- I'm a nurse and there are lots of openings. I don't have anywhere to shop here so I'm used to that. It's sounding like a good option. The median sales cost of a home in the town I live was 807k last year. As much as I like Tahoe it's not worth working myself to death to live there.

Not me. I'm not sure who is buying these houses but there are a ton of brand new Range Rovers and A8L in town. Plus all of the freaking tourists are driving me crazy
