I've seen mixed reviews on what size tires will and will not rub. Currently my suspension is stock, but I'm looking at some Stassis streets with only a small drop (no more than an inch) in the future.

Optimally I would like to run 235/40/18s, but I'm scared I will run into some rubbing issues. I guess my other options would be: 225/40/18s, 235/35/18, or 225/35/18s?

Who out there is running any of these setups? Rub or no rub?

Please help!! [confused]

After posting the above in the B5/RS4um I only got a few responses back, and after doing tons of searching both here & AW I was unable to get a definitive answer, so I figured I'd ask the pros.

As stated previously my preference would be for 235/40/18s. I know some tires run a little wider than others. I will probably end up w/ Eagle F1 GS-D3s, or PS2s. Although I am running stock susp now I'm gonna be getting some Stassis street c/o's in the summer with a minimal drop.

What are the chances of running into rub? Is a fender roll necessary? Are 225s a better choice for these tire brands?

Sorry for the repost, just wanted to clear the confusion for myself and others in the same dilema. Spring is just around the corner! [:)]

Thanx

I can not say for sure with a drop if you will need a fender lip roll or not using a 235. But I would say, if is not a big drop, and the offset is right with those wheel, (I do not stock them so have no idea if the will be right) you should be alright.

BTW buy the PS'2.

Give a call if I can be of more help.

Thank you,

Thanks for the input Oscar!

What's better about the PS'2s? According to this chart on tire rack the F1s are rated slightly higher:

Are there anyother tires you reccommend.? I'm really interested in performance, and some decent wear. I don't really mind the noise.

Thanks again

From all the testing that I have done, I can assure you the PS's are the better tire. I also drive on them.

are they one of those brands that tend to run wide, or are they pretty close to actual size? Thanks again man, sorry to bug you so much!

No you are fine. And I would not say the "brand" is one that runs a little larger than specs. However, some size seem to run a tad bigger.
