2005 LA Auto Show Audi Coverage

Alas...we finally made it over to the Audi exhibit...I can say now that I've seen the all new B7 A4/S4 I really like it. It's similar to the B6 but not, if you get my drift. Overall the shape of the car will quickly remind you that it's an Audi...the rear is a love or hate thing even in person but I like it it works for the car.

I do not like the added RED reflector in the rear side to conform to US spec...just begs to be deleted.

There doesn't seem to be enough "fender" on this car as it did on the outgoing B6 model but once we get the specs on this car we can compare.

The S4 is very impressive in the Avant version. Gone is the polished mirror housing and roof rails...in comes the satan finish...very nice touch Audi

What really got my blooding pumping was the A3 Sportback...this will be a hot seller for Audi...unfortunately none of these cars were unlocked for us to sit in and look over so all these shots are exteriors shots. The biggest thing that I really liked about this sportback was the optional panorama roof!!! This is hot...this is a must have option for the Sportback

All in all the Audi line up for 2005 will be something to watch as we go into the new year anticipating BMW's release of their 3 series competitor. Audi took some bold steps and this will be a make it or break for them.

I agree, the A4/S4 looks amazing in person. But I must say I was not too impressed with the Sportback which really upsets me cause I was thinking of getting one. I think the back looks odd, other than that it's great but the rear just looks off. Maybe with a drop and some sweet 18in mesh style wheels the A3 will look good but in stock form I'm not a fan.

I thinkthe S4 actualy looks teh best and far better than the A4. I can't really tell until I see the A3 in person as to how its going to look - but int he pics the butt does look a little off.

Went to the San Jose Auto Show today. Total garbage, all the good stuff is in LA and/or Detroit. Nearly half of the Audis and VWs they had will be gone by next year, nothing new there at all!

Hey do any of you know if the 3.2 A3 will be offered in a 6-speed or is it only going to be the DSG? And how much power can the DSG handle? The thought of a 3.2 A3 Supercharged makes me forget about the Jetta [:)]

DSG only with the 3.2 A3 according to my Audi Magazine 1/05. I don't see any mention of sc [confused] [:D].

Well VF Engineering picked up a euro-spec A3 with the 3.2 to develop a supercharger for it [:)] so that sounds like fun

Well the 5-door A3 but not the 3-door. It still might happen with the S3 but I heard that they won't be bringing that one over [:(]
