Malfunction indicator lamp---comes on

hello everyone this is my first post.

I own a 2001 silver 180 quattro. Last week in the middle of the highway my clutch failed w/o warning. Somehow pulled the car in second gear to my work place parking lot.
Took it dealer he fixed the clutch mastercylinder as it is on warranty. Now after i drove the car for 100 miles my MIL -(malfunction indicator lamp) shows up.
Took it back to the dealer, he cud not diagonise the situation so he reset the light ...after 50 miles again it started to show up...im just worried now.. how many times i have to take it to the dealer....

the car runs absolutely fine even now...but this light keeps bothering me

Does anyone have had this problem ..and if so whats the remedy..

Find someone in your area with a vag-com so you can see what the trouble code is that is causing the light.

Then go back to the dealer with that info.

Or just go back to the dealer and complain. They should fix whatever it is. Clearing it and sending you on your way is not acceptable.

Now i took it back to the Dealer and asked him to fix it , he said the engine coolant temperature sensor had issues. I guess its fixed for now...

Meanwhile let me check the other dealers if it comesback again ..
