My car has 17" performance tires which perform great on dry road and rain, but are terrible in snow! What tire do you recomend I put on car? Will I miss my performance tires in rain and dry roads? Any other suggestions? Change tires twice a year?

thanks.

Recommend you get a second set of wheels with snow tires and swap out twice a year.

Tirerack usually has some decent wheel/tire combo deals.

The original tires that come with the sport package are excellent performance tires but suck in snow and ice. And, they only last about 18-20 k miles. After my original Continental tires were worn, I switched to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. These tires, since they are all season, also give great performance and handling (but not as good as the original high performance tires that came with the car) and work real well in the snow and ice, and since the compound is not as soft at the high performance dry road tires, they last much longer also, around 30 k miles or so. The handling is compromised somewhat for the all weather and snow capabilities, but the handling is still great!
