All you have to do is piece it together....
I started this build back in Late February of this year, just been buying parts here and there storing them and doing my build in parts.
Just wait for good deals to pop up... As it is my build probably won't be finished until maybe February of next year.....

The hard part with that i think is my location.... That was one of the reasons why i was going to go with Tapp tune because he mails you the dongle to upload the software to your car....
Everything else that i know of you have to bring the car to the tuner. Right?
But for now i have plenty of time to decide which tuner to go with.

I'm bringing my car to ASP tomorrow for a custom tune.
As you are putting together your hardware I highly suggest you engage a tuner early so you can make sure the hardware matches what the tuner would need to tune the car. Ie: if you need a MAF and stuff...

Yup i agree, ive been on top of that as well making sure everything will work with the tune.
Funny you mention the MAF because i either need a TIAL Q BOV or the FORGE BIG DV. Waiting for info on that.... It was recommended that i go with the TIAL Q BOV...

We kept my car function as OEM with all the OEM sensors yet it'll make more than 3x the stock power. That is how my tuner and I prefer to have things set-up. In case you are interested, here are details of what we fabbed up: http://audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=317898

Very nice!! Thank you... I liked to see how you had your IC piping routed as well as how you mounted the FMIC.....
Thats pretty much how mine will be as far as keeping the MAF and OEM, im just not sure yet what he wants DV or BOV.
P.S. This is all new to me as far as turbo's go the only VW ive had that was close was my G60 Corrado other than that its always been n/a VW's

If you don't mind explaining, whats different about it?
I plan to slowly collect all the parts to do a full engine rebuilt and quattro swap in the spring. Dunno if I want to piece together a BT kit, or go w. APR's s3 kit. It all comes down to $$$ in the end haha.

My manifold is a single external wastegate Shawns is a twin scroll 2 wastegate manifold mostly good for your large turbo's and to reduce the lag "i think" but basically mine has 1 WG his has 2 WG.
The FWD to AWD conversion is pretty easy the only thing i couldn't do was put the tranny in "was still recovering from a broken neck"

mhmm a twin scroll will spool faster than a single scroll of the same size, and to take advantage of this you need to have the 2 WGs

i believe the tapp tune is already out for this type of turbo setup. btw, its called bench flashing when you flash the ecu without the car. we do it as well :) revo and eurodyne aka tapp software. tapp=great for custom tunes!
I'm pretty sure that its not out yet for our platform....

Eurodyne aka Tapp is trying to make a come back they have popped many motors and I am surprised that they have not gone out of business like EIP. Revo doesn't have a tune yet. Unitronics is good and can changed parameters on the maps to custom specs. Now If you want the real deal you go custom tune, which is well worth it. The two men I trust for this is Tony@EPL or Mark@Autospeed. They are the 2 best tuners for Euro cars in the U.S.A now. I Know Mark has solved the low pressure fuel problem. He has a tune for the for the GT3071r already. Just to let you know I would do pistons, rods, complete valvetrain set, head studs, cam, rod bearings. Then you can run real boost. Just to let you know the stock 2.0T block can only hold 400WHP. Good Luck.

I may start the build early if i can tires on the truck for transportaion.

Yes both places are very reputable without a doubt from my researches.......From what I have read 450WHP can be made safely with just rods which I have already and I believe that JC@Douglas from Vortex has made 500WHP on stock internals or atleast with a minimum of just rods but I know for sure the the valvetrain was stock....

Yes I know some of the VW guys have really pushed the limits with the stock motor. I would be very worried if I popped my Audi motor. The GT3076r can make 500 Crank Horsepower. So if you want to max the capabilities I would definitely build the motor of optimum power.

GT3076r's are capable of making more then 500 crank. I think there is a B6 guy who made 500awhp on race gas with a 3076r. That turbo is quite powerful.

Nothing will be run in an unsafe manner (sp?) as this will be a DD so reliability is essential and my goal is 450WHP if I make that hey great if not ill try to get as close as I can SAFELY on 93oct... No w/m will be used!

My goal is to have a nice confortable somewhat quiet daily driver with full interier and a stock outer look couple necessary gauges on the inside w/450awhp.[:D] Its not going to be a drag car, dyno queen, auto-x none of the above! I have no real interest in a 0-60 time, i'm sure it will obviously be better with the added HP......

I'll probably shoot for 25 to 27 psi. I know it spools at higher rpms thats why the CHRA is for the WG'ed gt3076 so it will spool sooner. If it makes it hey good if not thats cool i'll still enjoy the car either way.....

Goped, that is great but if the tuner has any brains they will run the car off the 02 sensor once the car passes 22psi. This has never been a problem.

Jeff, you can actually move the core back at least another 1/2". What you do is cut the nub on the right, and move it back to give you more room. I was able to fit a 3.5" core on a B6 that way, and yours should have a ton more room

Hey Jeff, I'm sure I'll talk to you in the next couple of days but you need to reclock the turbo and redo the oil return line. The turbo needs to be as close as possible to 0* orientation, 5* is recommended never exceeding 15*. The way it appears you have it setup is way past that which will cause oil back up in the turbo and possible bearing issues

Two things,
1. I don't agree with Shawn often, but that's an easy fix clocking the center section
2. That MAF is going to be quite a restriction. You might want to rethink it or find a 4" housing to use

If you don't have a TIP routed for the MAF then I would just start-up the car MAF-Less with a good filter on the compressor inlet. Otherwise, don't start the car until the TIP is figured out.
FYI for the TIP construction: MAFs do not like abrupt transitions after the housing. Best to have a minimum of 4inches of straight tubing of the same diameter as the MAF housing after the MAF. Then your bends and transitions to get it up into the compressor inlet.

That pic is slightly off, The blue transition is there then I have a 2.75"ID x 4" length with a 1" ID nipple on it for the DV reroute where the MAF is in the pic then a 90* elbow then the MAF then the air filter.
EDIT: Shit! None of that is going to work going to have to redo the intake side all over again! [headbang] I just have so little room to work with there....

You have room. IF the MAF and filter are underneath the framerail and headlight. That is where mine is and my IC piping comes over the framerail like yours.
Talk to you tuner and pick their brain on TIP routing in the B7...

Yea that is where the MAF and air filter are going to be, pretty much right behind the cooling fan.... It's the 2.75" aluminum T thats not going to work, maybe for short term use but not a permanant fix...

You might want to heat-shield that braided line that almost touches the manifold. Sooner or later it will fail. Wrap it with exhaust insulating tape (like DEI) the line, not the manifold, and it will hold up fine all time long......Waiting for good news from you man. Cheers

Yup fully functional... A little more heat wrap and its done, maybe add a aluminum heat shield for the coil pack wireing. Just need to pull some log files for Vast for some fine tuning... There are a few other items I still need like motor mounts A/F gauge and a better DV...
Doc: Those 2 lines you see are the oil return and the collant feed they are about 2" away from the exhaust manifold but I may want to wrap them as welll..

You mean strictly dyno tuning the car remotely???? If so i'm not sure, you would have to ask the specific tuning company if they are able to do that??? But yes sorta like that.
