Opinion Headlight Replacements

All, I'm looking to upgrade my headlights for a 04 B6. I have xenons in there now... not sure if they are bi-xenon or single (how do I tell what they are)? Any recommendations... E-Codes maybe?

turn headlights on
turn on high beams
step outside of car
look at headlight. If the inner bulb isn't lit... there is your answer

My recently purchased 2005 S4 has some crappy "Sonar" housings. I am not sure if the internals were taken from the originals or not. It looks like the connectors have been hacked to some degree, as well. I think I would need to buy a full kit to replace with something better. So, I am waiting to see...

Am I mistaken in thinking that bi-xenon uses a halogen high beam as well?

Bi-xenon's have a larger projector lens than single xenons.
Bi's use both halogen and xenon to produce high beam light output.
