Brian here at New Dimensions, just trying to get an idea of how many people would have an interest in supercharging their B6 S4s. Just trying to get a feel a for the demand for such a kit so we can motivate the tuners to produce a complete kit.

Well, I think that at this stage of the game - you pay to play. For me, I not only factor in the cost of labor and parts for mods - I factor in the possibility of needing to pay for parts and labor for repairs that might be related to that mod. Part of the reason why I haven't chipped my 1.8t - I don't have the money to buy a new turbo.

LOL...

Yeah, the thing is that I think a lot of people are a little irresponsible about spending money - and I am one of them too. But so many things I've learned over the 6 years of modifying cars and one constant is that the actual cost of modifying a car goes far beyond just parts and labor.

For example - BBK cost and labor about 2.5k or so. But add into that cost other things - what if something goes wrong during installiation, what if the pads last only 10k, etc. And the price goes up.

i would be interested, but curious as to what would happen if Audi declined to warranty a parts failure unrelated to the kit

I am very interested, very curious about what is invloved and what the actual results will be. Although after installing the turbo on my Mazada I have sworn to never try this again myself.

Was your car at the airport last week? I saw a Nogaro S4 with Hoehn plates and OZ wheels.

Hahahahaha.... less than 5k.

Please, big turbo's for 1.8T are 5k or so.

I'm interested, but it all depends. I highly doubt the price they ask is something we'd wanna pay. Muchless somethnig that can go on a Tiptronic.

I might be happy without forced induction, as long as I can get to 400-420 hp without it.[:D]

damn thats would be a serious mod. expensive and extremmely powerful

Interested. You will never be able to mod the 4.2 N/A and get big power like you can with F/I. Modding N/A is very expensive and yields marginal gains.

The biggest problem with the B6 S4 is its weight. I'd like to see a campaign to drop at least 300 lbs. from this porker.

^^^well its a V8 luxury car with all wheel drive, what do you expect? unless you'd like to rip out those alcantara power seats....

If you want to see how to get serious about weight loss look up the MTM RS6 that I posted in the General Car Talk forum. I think they got about 400 lbs out of the car. No sound insulation except for carpeting, plus several other extreme mods.

One other thing. I would expect to pay between 10 and 15K for the SC kit. The rumor is that MTM is expecting to get about 25K which seems rediculous.

it would probably sell well if it fit on both the current b6 s4's and the new b7's seeing as how theyll be the smae engines.

25k is insane, just buy an RS6.

JetBlue

I agree. 10K is more in line. Otherwise I would just buy a 997S.

B6 S4 is BRZRKR

Yeah. I'd take one in a snap for if it was.... say... $10k or less. But the the manu that we all said $6k, full kit.

Oh, and I want a 997S too. Hope to pick it up as the 'impractical car' in the garage this spring. I'm sorry, I had to say that. Don't hate me.

What I was trying to say in my horrible reply was that I'd pay $10k for it if it produced a high enough number without breaking trannys (I have 6sp), but that it'd be nice to come in arund $6k, so tell the manufacturer that.
