Iam really thinking about getting this car but in black and with a different body kit. Any body know anything about Audi 90's and if you can mod them at all bc I think they have a v6 12v. O also If their reliable cars?

Very reliable cars. I had a 93 90S with the 2.8 V6. It ran to almost 200k before I traded it in for my B5 A4. I still see it around town every now and again. Always pulled nicely and handled well. I always liked the clean look of the car, very no-nonsense businesslike. Engine mods are limited. Ask UberAudi about sites, He's the resident 90 specialist. BTW, he just started working at New Dimensions so he may have even more info now.

Before my S4 I had a 1989 Audi 90 10v. It had 130K miles and all sort of problems. I spent $5000 on buying the car and over the year I owned it I put another $5000 into it just to keep it running. Don't get me wrong, I loved that car, it was blast in the snow and rain. The A/C couldn't be on or the car would stall when I came to a stop, and I had to turn off the ABS because when it was on the front brakes wouldn't work and I would slide through intersections. I love how these older Audi's look but don't buy a 10v, There is basically nothing you can do to improve performance unless you custom fabricate everything yourself.

I have a 1991 Audi 90 2,3E 10v. Works perfect. Quattro now at winter time is just awesome. The engine is'nt the largest and most powerfull, but since the car is'nt that heavy it works well. And it does 0-60mph in around 8 secs.

As Brian said above. Be sure to get a 20v. There is little you can do with the 10v engine. Without serious internal engine changes and such. You can reach around 190-200hp with the 10v engine. By adding a Audi 200 turbo setup (bolt-on). The 20v also has bigger brakes, sport suspension and 5-bolt wheel hub (and maby a few other minor changes) The 20v is easier to get over 250hp. But there really is'nt that much you can do with that either.

The trick is to get hold of a cheap 90, with a five cylinder engine. And then take out the engine, and replace it with a five cylinder 2.2litre turbo engine. From an S2, RS2 or S4 (but be aware that you need to replace the radiator to fit the S4 edition of the 5 cylinder)

The turbo engines have a enourmous potential. If you have the money, tools and knowledge. You can get these engines well over 1000hp (but thats serious tuning) Usually people tune them to 300-400hp (220/230hp standard(dependant on model))

And of course if you are aiming very high you need to change almost everything (as you would on any car) gearbox, drivetrain, brakes, eletrical system and so on.

Well yeah. Im bored, and sorry to go a little off track on your thread... (and just ask if you want to know more of the audi five cylinder family)

Btw, the Audi 90's were made with:

4-cylinder 2.0 (115hp)
4-cylinder 2.2 (136hp)
5-cylinder 2.3 20v (170hp)
5-cylinder 2.3 10v (136hp)
6-cylinder 2.6 (150hp)
6-cylinder 2.8 (174hp)

depending on what you want to do with the car. If you want to increase horses and make a great track car, like gecco says, get a I-5 car and go to town. If you want a low cost reliable driver w/o major hassles so you can focus on body mods, I'd reccomend the 2.8 v6.

As far as mods go they're available, you just have to look real hard. And although I probably shouldn't say it....AW has a far more knowledgeable (and much larger) crew as far as 90's go.

Hey Miktip!! its about time you came over here for a visit. I peddle between here and audiworld mainly. Im still pretty new to this one but i have some local friends that are on here alot.

Hey if you need any help in the audi 90 mod department Miktip is very knowledgeable. Both of us have fairly similiar styles and mods done to our B4 1993 Audi 90s. He is a bit ahead of me in the engine department but Im pulling mine out sometime this year to put in a 20VT AAN that I have. I didnt want to put money into a motor that I was going to keep. The 20VT will be tuned to around 370-400 for starters but Im lacking a few of the needed conversion parts. I dont want to put in what I have just to rip it apart again to put a bigger turbo etc... on so Im waiting to do it all at one time.

The 12v is a good motor and besides regular maintenance my car has been a great dependable car for me. Never once left me stranded. Fuel pump went out at my house, ignition module at my house, and one other thing, im drawing a blank.

Just let give any of us a holler, there are many people that would be willing to help ya out.

My car was totalled....insurance snatched it up and took it somewhere. The kit was all Rieger, the rear piece was extended with fiberglass to fit our bumpers since it is designed for the euro bumpers. I parted out as much as I could and have most of it for sale.
