I'm attempting a Valve Cover Gasket swap soon, and was wondering if anyone in the area had a tensioner tool 3366 I could borrow? I'm in northeastern ma/ southeastern NH.
Thanks!
Jeremy

Just curious, but what portion of the swap requires the use of the 3366?

The cam tensioner gasket swap.

The cam tensioner gasket swap.

Ah, my bad. But, this tool isn't needed for the Valve Cover Gasket job itself, correct?

Are you swapping in the newer plastic composite versions, or something else?

The valve covers only, no. But it's standard practice to replace the cam tensioner adjuster gaskets while you're in there since they're a typical leaky culprit as well, and it's double the labor if you do them separately.

It's a pain to do the cam tensioner gaskets, and if they aren't leaking, don't touch them is what I say...

If you are ever down my way, I can lend one of mine to you [up]

I'm pretty sure they definitely are leaking, as the tensioners are coated with oil deposits and the car has 93K...
Thanks for the loan offer!~

I'm right off of exit 48 on 495 north. Not far at all from Boston. If you'd be willing to lend me the tool (or maybe even assist a fellow audiziner?? :) ), that'd be great!
Let me know what you think~ you can PM me if you want.
