View Full Version : Suspension install
What is a normal price & time for having shocks and springs installed on a S4. I was told that it takes 6hrs & it would cost $510 ($85 an hour), and this was by a shop that said they have worked on them before so they know the car pretty well. Thanks

6hrs is way too long. Install takes about 3hrs if they're good.
My coilovers were put on for 150$ ($55/hr). Skilled mechanic shouldnt take more then 3 hours
Thanks guys. Thats what I was thinking, but I wasn't going to try to question them since they actually work on cars but it just didn't sound right.
I have looked for some links detailing the install, but I haven't really found anything. Does anyone happen to have a link for this. Thanks

it took 4 hours to do it in my very cluttered 2 car garage. that included getting the car up on jack stands with a leaky jack. with a lift and real spring compressors a competent mechanic should be able to knock it out in 3-4 hours.

I was quoted at $600 and $700 by two different shops for coilover install. That included an alignment but still seems way too high to me.
