Anyone with a 99.5 or older you should definitely phone up Audi and get an appointment for the service action. Its good for all the lower control arms and tie rod ends in the front. I had mine in on Thursday but my car didn't have any problems... why pay when you can get it for free!

I went into Queensway Audi, and they said nothing is wrong with mine.
Only the lower straight ones are covered, and I need the uppers.

they didn't mention it mattering although my car isn't overly low but they did mention that they noticed it. The service said it didn't matter.

This is bullshit. They (Audi) know that everyone has problems with the upper control arms and they have a recall with the lower ones!
Man, during the fall, I gave Audi Canada a call regarding the upper control arms and told them that I had to change them twice within a 15 months period. I mention that most of the older A4(B5) have issues with the upper control arms and I even asked if they knew if a recall would be issue soon. All I can say is, if Audi did have a recall on the upper ones, they would be losing $$. End of rant...

Wow. How many kms did you drive during that period? I thought they go bad at about every 70,000 kms.

Not much, I would say 30 000km max. I guess having your car lower and living in Montreal doesn't help. [rolleyes]

Lowering the car makes that much of a difference with the control arms? Damn, I'm running on H&R race springs and Koni yellows.

Don't forget, living in Montreal doesn't help as well. The roads are horrible here in Quebec.
