Oscar: Borbet VM's 2 piece, staggered, work?

Hey Oscar,
I found a set of 5X112 bolt pattern, et 35, 18X8f 18X9r Borbet VM 2 piece wheels that were on a 2000 Mercedes C280 sport. The owner claims they will work with my 2003 VW Passat 1.8T FWD if I get the correct hubcentric rings and lug bolts. Is this true? I just want to make sure before I shell out any money. Thanks!

No. The rear 9" is too wide, and most important is the fact the center bore of the hubs do not match up.
