I ask around for mine awhile back. Something like $350-450. It's not the OE stuff, but OE windshield is too soft anyway.

I know its not completely related but they are having a problem out the oakville/milton/burlington way with kids dropping rocks from the overpasses so keep an eye peeled gentlemen. Broken windshields, dented hoods, roofs etc. The scare from the bang could send you off the road... kids are pinheads.
I had a stone from a truck hit my windshield also - made a little chip in it. I should get that fixed or it may spread.

Get it fixed IMMEDIATELY...I didn't, thinking it won't spread...one fine morning (especially with the cold coming)...sproing! Instead of free...I ended up spending 400 clams...your choice Amigo! [;)]

Yeah - I should have learnt my lesson in my last car. Had a stone chip, made it through the summer, but come winter - it started to propagate. By the end of the winter, the crack went the whole length of my windsheild.
I had a quote to repair it, but they wanted over $100 from what I remember - just to fix the little ding.

Heh broken windshield? I have two chips, and one crack from a stone from the 401. Then on the way up to Bancroft my buddy decides to slam his fist on the windshield but he didn't think the crack would spread... well, another 3 inches added!
Given that the crack is in the middle of the windshield, I'm suspecting that this part of the windshield is susceptible to the most stress, so I won't be surprised if I scrape the ice off the windshield and see the crack get worse.
Oh well... PPG glass here I come....

A lot of places will fix a chip for "free". I think that may be misleading notion and that they actually go through your insurance.
When I had my windshield replaced (I can't remember who...Standard Auto Glass I think??) it came with a free lifetime chip repair warranty!
If you replace your windshield, make sure they will fix chips for free... and not through your insurance.
