new A6 headlights

i was at the local dealer and was inspecting the new A6. i noticed that there is aboslutley no amber in the headlight housing but there is a 3x3 orange square reflector on the bumper. do you think audi decided to make a headlight that would be on both the euro and us models? or did they finally catch on that we want clears oem?

Yup, no need for E-Code headlights on the new A6. But you will need a new Euro bumper to get rid of those damn orange reflectors. That, or paint them. This is the way all of the VWs have been for years.

wonder if...they changed the optics on the DOT lights vs the Ecode hmmmm

and we'll be painting ours...orange is sooo tacky on black

The optics are probably different based on EU vs DOT standards and guidelines, but is that alone worth the thousand or so dollars for a swap?

And yeah, I'd paint mine too. Until I was able to import a European bumper... [;)] Wonder how the NA-Spec A3 is going to look...

What are you going to do about the matte gray license plate strip across the center of the grille?

well "supposedly" it comes w/ the "A6" bar that you can use in lieu of the US plate so that's what i'll do or order one.

you're right though and with recent discovery of the bi-xenon lights having concentric rings i would think that it's the same

the problem with this new bumper is that it was designed for a wider and shorter plate, US plates are gonna look like doodoo on this car. The interior is very impressive btw, you should all see one in person

btw that's a PS of the us spec car...if you see the corner lights are not orange as well as they are required to flash orange/amber
