Ok so I am at 76K miles.

I am planning on doing the timing service sometime in Mid May. I have searched and looked and still have not came up with the exact list of everything that I should change while I am at this. I will be doing it by myself so, please help out!

Also any links to good DIY's?

One more thing, I'll probably do some stuff with the car while I am at it too (front mount) and get it tuned a few weeks after that by that dude in NC.

Thanks,
Paul

iknow you need to do water pump too, but don't think you need to do thermostat.

yes you do want to do the thermostat.. its right there while you have everything off the car so change it while your in there

timing belt, roller tensioner, water pump, thermostat, thats the minimum

Ok so I am going to order the timing belt kit very soon.

Now I also wanna do all my coils, and spark plugs while I am at it, along with wires. Can any one reccomend any performance/ good stuff for those items?

Thanks,
Paul

As far as plugs and coil packs just stick to OEM.

I would strongly recommend changing the serpentine tensioner. Both mine and my brothers (2.7T Allroad) tensioners seized after changing the t-belt. Coincidence maybe....but so much easier/convenient to change with the other stuff. Serp belt too.

*edit*

Sidenote. When the serpentine tensioner did snap the car had butt-loads of power since it wasn't driving the accesaries! Made me strongly consider doing a viscous clutch/fan delete....that is next on my list!

Paul -- I got my kit from Blauparts. Clicky (http://www.blauparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=GH21113-1A)..

I am doing my TB now. I also go the DVD from JH Motorsport. I like the DVD because it gives you an over all idea before you start the process.

OK seriously getting readu to start putting the order in today

Sooo

Which timing belt kit is the most complete and the best? includes most of the stuff that needs to be changed? I am so confused since ECS has like 5 different kits.

Also can someone direct link me to plugs and coils and wires?\? I am such a newb in all this engine stuff :)

Thanks,
Paul

get this, it has everything you need to do the job. it also includes a dvd that walks you threw the process.

you can preview the video on that page to get an idea what it's like. i would also suggest renting the cam lock bar and crank lock pin from them. it'll save you from having to buy them.

i would also pick up a bottle of coolant. you'll loose some when you do the water pump. not much, but it's nice to have some to top it off when your done.

and heres a DIY so you can get an idea of what your about to get yourself into.

Personally I'm going to go with Blauparts'

@Gumby - For around $20 more you get coolant for the coolant flush from blau.

i'll spend the extra 20 bucks just for the dvd. and there really isn't any need to flush the coolant. it's "life time".
