How do I replace rear license plate bulbs?

Hey guys. New to the board.

Just wondering if anyone knows how to get access to the rear license plate bulbs. I tried the search feature, but no dice.

do i just use a flathead screwdriver and pry it open from the slots on the outside? or is there a way to get through it in the interior of the trunk?

any help would be great. thanks.

There should be 2 screws that is holding down the housing of the license plate bulbs, once you loosen them you should be able to pop it out or use flat head to pry it out. Once you do that you should be able to get access on the bulbs to replace them

unless you mean there are screws from inside the trunk wall.

not led's. i got some hoen rear license plate bulbs.


ive been hearing that the led's are making the "bulb out" message pop up since the led's run on low wattage.

Thanks for this. We don't have it in the US owner's manual. It simply tells us to take our car to the dealer for a bulb change. [rolleyes]
