Hey guys I'm about to pick up my first set of wheels and need help with tires.

I have a 2003 4.2. It is not lowerd now but i might go with the FSD/eb set at some point.

The most important thing to me is ride comfort and performance.

The wheels are 18x8 offset 35mm.

What size tires should I get? And what about spacers, yay or nay?

Thanks as always!

I would get 235 40 R18 an get 5mm spacers. You could easily use a 225 series tire but no reason to with the fenders on the 4.2. You want something to fill it out a bit more. I have 235's on a 8.5" inch wheel with an offset of et30 on the narrow body and they come right to the edge. Your fenders flare so you could get away with more if you wanted to.

since you have a 4.2 , you could use 245 tires, and i would look at 5-10mm spacers up front and 15mm in the rear.......8" wide wheels are way small for a 4.2 ... hell i even think its small for a 2.7T .... but i have 19x8.5 with 15mm spacers on my 2.7T , so you can fit atleast 15mm spacers in the rear...to make it look right.....just my 2 cents

well, first off, find out what the bore size of the wheels you are getting, of if they have a hubcentric ring, but i like either H&R , or ECS spacers
