lookin to run 245's on 18x8.5 rims,
i'm assuming they'll fit, but the car is way low with H&R coilovers.
i'm guessing i'll just raise it up til it doesnt rub.

also guessing that for a 245 width i should run 35 aspect ratio, but i'd prefer 245/40 (blew up some rims with 235/35/19).
would the 40 series side walls just exacerbate any rubbing issues and or give false speedo readings?

any suggestions & prices on moderately priced summer tires that dont totally blow in the rain? i had 235/35/19 kumho mx's before that were pretty good....

Using a 245/35-18 will work on a 18X8.5" wheel. And depending on the drop on the car, may or may not clear with out a fender lip roll. I would not use a 245/40-18" tire size.

You will rub pretty bad. 225 is as wide as the front likes if your low...

as far as fitting the tires on the rims it's not a problem. Assuming offset is the same as stock it will rub if car is lowered. So offset plays a bit part.
I personally would not put 245/40/18 on A4's because the difference in diameter is pretty significant cause speedomoter to go off and increase your gear ratio making car slower not to mention possibility of rubbing. I would try 35 series like you said although to keep diameter similiar you should go 255/35/18 but that seems way too wide. Good luck.

i ran 235/45-17 pilot sports with the car dumped. i had no issues even when autocrossing or tracking the car.
