[confused] I seem to be having problems with my A6. It's overheating and before I bring it to a mechanic I wanna do my homework. When I 1st noticed the problem, the warning light came up, it was a 1/4 away from the boiling point. I looked under the hood expecting to see a mess, and to my surprise everything looked in tact. I thought my three way connecter of the resovoir into the hoses that run to the radiater broke, as it did a few months ago. This is pretty simple to fix , and the fact that I found a brass piece(3 way connector, or tripod, thats what I call it) instead of the plastic one I have incase it happen again. But that looked good, I know that wasn't the problem. The thermostat was changed with the waterpump almost a year ago, so that is fairly new. I suspected the fan(clutch not electrical), but I had a friend rev the engine while I looked under the hood and the fan sped accordingly with the engine. I bought the car from my brother in law, so the car has no dealer warranty. Basically Iam trying not to get raped (pricewise) , with something that might be easy to fix, or not as major as a crooked mechanic might make it out to be. I hope somebody in this Audi world can help me narrow down this problem.
