I am looking for winter tires too. I want something that is a great performer in the snow for the least price. I bought the cheapest snow tires I could last year and I wasn't really impressed with them, Kelly Magnagrip I think? Looked like some truck tires...

I used to buy the cheapest "well rated" snows I could find, and was always dissapointed. Mostly, they had a low speed rating, and were crap.

I then got lucky and bought a car with some H rated snows (Dunlop sport) and they are great. I much, much better than the cheap tires. The H rated tires are not going to be the very best in ice, but they hold their own, and are hands down better in the dry/wet conditions we usually see.
