Hey fellas,
Have any of you all gotten negative feedback (ie warranty GONE) on any of your mods?
Cat-back?
GIAC (supposed to be invisible)?
Full exhaust with DPs?
Intake?
Thanks in advance.

Cat back and intake are OK. Audi issued a statement that DP's would void the warranty. The chip will be an issue if they find it. I would ask around in your area. Some dealerships are more friendly than others.
By the way welcome to the board.

Thanks man. You're really hittin' all my threads with great info. Killer. I can pay you back if you happen to have a 240Z (old school). I've had 13 and can help out there... but I'm Audi ignorant!

No worries. I actually started out with a 74' 240Z. It was pretty tricked out. Bored, triple Webers etc. How did you end up with the Audi?

I thought there was a ruling several months ago that a dealer could only refuse warranty work on a car that has been modified if it can be proven that the modification was directly associated with the problem requiring or necessitating said repair?

Good to see you got your posting in order, BRZRKR. Welcome aboard. So far as mods and warranty, they can void it if they can prove that the modification caused a specific problem. They can't blame a malfunctioning window regulator on a cat-back exhaust, but I'm sure they'd pull something. BUT for initial mods, an exhaust would be a good start I'd say. The N/A motor doesn't stand to gain TOO much from ECU modification, but it's worth a shot, i guess. If it really is invisible, why not. As far as intake, Satan4 here has a modded intake (I completely forget what it is specfically) so hopefully he can give you some feed back
btw, my cousin goes to UNC Asheville, says it's a really nice town [:)]

TxSheps4, is right. They can only void the warranty on the part modified, UNLESS, it has an effect on the internals. So if you were to say, shoot NOS, or add a turbo, the powertrain warranty would be gone, but as for intake, and exhaust, that would not void the warranty. But it is always recommended to find a "cool" tech to work with.

Yeah, Imperial. I tried it again starting afresh altogether and had no probs. I don't even know what I did differently. Anyways, yeah, Asheville is a killer town. I love it. And (to JetBlue) I ended up with the S4 because I graduated and got a job! I had the 240Zs through school. Worked on them in my spare time and sold them one by one (even with special orders) to pay for college. Has any of you tried the AWE Tuning exhaust. I know I keep bringing them up, but they tune 911TTs and stuff... many people choose them in that field. Now that they're starting on the S4, it seems like a viable contender. Plus, it's modular, so you can make it sound just like you want it to.

I love the intake, my dealer told me not to worry about it. They said the worst thing that would happen, is it might throw up and error code that can be reset.

What intake are you running? Also, where do you normally go for your mods?
