View Full Version : Exhausts... AWE Tuning, Miltek, APR...
B6 S4 is BRZRKR

Hey guys. Now AWE Tuning has a modular exhaust for our S4s. Alot of you seem to use the Miltek. Why? What about APR? They have one too. How have you all decided which to go with? Help me out here, please. Also, I've found that I'm faster if I short-shift the car. That's weird for me, since I'm from VTEC world. For those of you with B6 S4s and aftermarket exhausts, did it really open up the power on those high rpms so that you actually WANT to hit the redline? I'm doing the GIAC too, as soon as I pick out an exhaust.
Thanks in advance for the help, fellas.

The three I have heard positive feedback on are Militek, Thermal, and AMD. Militek and AMD have full exhausts with DP's. Thermal is cat back only. You can also purchase Labree DP's separately and build your own system with any of the cat back systems. Also, AMD is working on a Supercharger for the car. If you are interested and have the means you may want to look more closely at their equipment. It is supposed to be about $10K and 500 HP. The do have really nice stuff.

Um K. I'm blessed with the means... and I'm interested. How do I get in touch with someone with AMD? Aren't they German? Is there anyone on here who sells them? I'm in the mountains of North Carolina, and don't really have an abundance of tuner shops here (other then redneck pushrod ones who like skinny front tires and wheelie bars).

The US site is:
www.amdtechnikusa.com
Ram is the engineer here and Philippa is his assistant. They are located in NJ I believe.

Isn't AMD and Milltek the same exhaust?

I think they both use Magnaflow mufflers. I do not know if they are the same, but they are the same price!

If you look at AMD Techniks site you can find some places that say Milltek exhaust. I know for a fact that they used to advertise the exhaust as Milltek, but recently changed it to what it is now.

We have had great success with the Milltek systems for the B6 S4s. Clients are very happy with the power and with the tone. It makes a great compliment to the GIAC Flash and our intake system(producing this now--details probably around the first of the year). We have installed an Eisenmann system and it fit crappy.
Haven't seen the AWE system first hand yet, although their B5 exhaust fit well.
I would love to dyno the Milltek and AWE full systems back to back.
HTH,
Jeremy

If you ever do, PLEASE let us know. And Jeremy, where are you located? I bet you're too far for me to make it in a day.
