Thanksgiving G2G near NC/SC border or Charlotte

This year thanksgiving is on the 25th, which is a thursday.

I have talked to some other members and we are looking to have a Charlotte area get together the saturday after thanksgiving.

Saturday November 27th.

Just polling interest here, no official time or place is set.

I know offroader1006 is interested in a g2g as well so far this date is good for us, lets get some more input.

yeah, ill be in town that whole time. 23rd till after new years. so..let me know were and ill be there. i could probably get a couple audis from the area to come out also.

like i said, place isnt set, if more people from sc want to join in, we can meet somewhere in the middle, or wherever. i might actually bring some guys w/ me, (theyll prolly ride, they dont drive audi's)

dont know about the vag com but we need to do something. sitting around on our buts talking about each others cars might get a tad old. but hey, it could work

GMP performance is a pretty good shop, maybe we could try to get them in on something? Matt, the guy there i worked with when getting my chip done drives a very nice b6 avant with almost everything possible done...

yeah, i saw it about a year and a half ago. he told me he was thinking about getting a vw bus and pimpin it out. cool guy. i guess talk to him and see what he says. but gocarts would be cool as long as its not like celebration station or the like. some place quality. is there an autocross event going on at knights stadium that sunday?

go carts is a good idea, autocross would be tight too.

Yeah, autocrossing season is over until March or April now. I don't have a VAG com, so I can't bring my own, but I might be able to get Morio (TT 225) to come and bring his. I'll PM him and see if he's interested.

I don't know of any awd dynos in the area either.

i cant seem to find links to any get togetheres where they do anything but eat... are we gonna turn fat for being enthusiasts?

i cant think of any better area than Speedway Boulevard in Charlotte.... not because its close to me because i dont care about driving wherever, but theres all sorts of great places to meet, like hooters, or Quaker Steak n Lube, great wings, good size parking, close to the speedway if we want to check out the museums, or something.... they shut down the go cart place close by, because it was the local crime scene... unfortunately... but theres a Nascar speedpark too, which has about 10 tracks, an indoor climbing wall, and some other stuff, that we could choose to do if we wanted, all of this is within a stretch of about a mile...

just one suggestion...

sable if you want to check out some places nearby you in charlotte, or if you SC boys want to nominate some stuff, we can decide on it when it comes closer to thanksgiving.

like i said, i dont mind the drive... i just remember seeing a vette g2g at the steak n lub place... and i saw a post about a g2g at hooters... and realized they are nextdoor to eachother..

well, im in savannah at school so i cant right now. ill be home on the 22nd. im fine with the nascar speedpark and hooters. that would be tight as hell after being in school for soo long. that would be perfect.

ok, but these arent competition go carts, ive never driven their carts, but ive heard people like them...

they have an indoor track and a bunch of outdoor tracks, i think some are gas some are electric, maybe if i contact them early they can have the good carts for us ;) i know some people...

it would be amazing if we could get all of our cars in the same area of the parking lot, but that might be difficult at hooters on a saturday...

i say we meet up in front of the speedway and have the photoshoot, with the speedway as the backdrop, and then head over to gocarts if we choose to do that (for weight purposes of course) then stuff ourselves with wings at either hooters or steak n lube... i wish hooters served the wings quaker steak and lube does... they are amazing i think they are the only place in the are with waiver wings, but i hear they arent all that bad...

Anyone have a problem meeting at 1PM at say Lowes Motor Speedway? if not, heres the message i sent to A4 in SC to keep him up to date:

So far i think the plan for the 27th is to meet at Charlotte Motor Speedway (exit 48 on I-85) at around 1.... take some pictures, chat for a bit, go ride some go karts, and hit up hooters... im gonna talk to hooters and see if we can reserve some parking spots so we can all park together, that would be impressive... if they say no, ill try quaker steak n lube... dont worry, their wings are worth it over hooters if they say no...
