blew my engine today...

Yesterday my lifters/rods started knockin a little, kinda sounded like a diesel truck. took it to my mechanic cause i work at a car dealership, and he told me that i should get it checked out. So i made an appointment today. I didnt drive it the rest of the day, but on my way to work today, i heard a big CLANK and my car died. My dad and i towed it to my work and another mechanic looked at it and said "yup, its toast"...the timing belt snapped at 64k. I just bought my car less than 2 months ago and this crap happens...doesnt make me too happy. LUCKILY i still had it under the Dealership warranty...for another NINE DAYS!!! Boy did i get lucky because my understanding is its gonna cost around 5-6k for parts/labor. I only have to pay 100 bucks out of pocket, so i get a brand new engine for 100 bucks...My advice would be to check your timing belt, even though you've heard that before...because you may not get as "lucky" as me. Looks like i'll be out of the game for about 2 weeks or so...

i work for the dealership, granted its a honda dealership i work for, but this is where bought it from. They're towin it over to the audi/vw dealership on monday to start the tear down.

my boss told me i should have them throw a 454 in it...i was like hell ya...put a big blower stickin out the hood!!! too bad they wouldnt throw in an s4 motor...ah well...i'm just happy its gettin fixed!

yeah just slip the guys over there a few bills and tell them to "accidentally" slip in an S4 motor....

"oh we thought all the V6's were the same" *cough**cough*.....

but yeah sweet that it was still under warranty.

Florida..............hmmmmm....seems so long ago, in a land far away....lol.

It was good but, also good to be home.

Clutch is on order from Germany (Der Faderland) and Tranny is being rebuilt. Oopps that's what happens when you throw 600chp at a 400chp tranny.
