Anybody know of a good place to get a carbon fiber or aluminum trim kit? The car I bought has wood and I want to get rid of it.

Congrats on finally gettin a car. What did you end up getting? Post pics as soon as you get it.
Not really sure where to get the best price on the trim. Try vagparts or epimporters. If I'm not mistake the trim is around $1,000.

Epimporters.com... they support our website too.
Other than that, vagparts.com (but usually w/ shipping, epi is cheaper)
Or if you're really bold, you can go on ebay.de but good luck, because it's a lot of hassle and worries to make sure you get the right stuff.

yea and if the trim is actually 1k, i would rather put in into performance other than dash trim and deal with the trim, its your choice though.

Isn't anyone that sees the subjectline "trim" going to check this thread out?

I must be off my game. I didn't really pay that much attention. Otherwise I would have made several truely tasteless, possibly inappropriate comments by now. [:p]
Anyways, I was off on my price guess. CF trim looks to be about $1,400 plus tax and shipping. [eek]

Yeah, are you sure you don't want Louis Vuitton or Alligator Skin for that much?

Seriously. I think you could get Russian Sable for that price or at least regular mink if your funds are a little low. [:p]
SBgirl just find a buyer for your wood (trying not to laugh) then maybe it will offset the cost enough to be worth it. Search around, you should be able to get CF for a better price somewhere or from someone.

It's not in my driveway yet but it will ship on Friday or Monday. 2004 Silver, black leather, manual, premium, cold weather, premium sound, and navigation. 9300 miles. I paid 42k and they are splitting shipping with me. The other one that got me started on the used thing was too much hassle. Between their finance company and mine it was to much trouble.
It would have been nice to have the brand new one exactly how I wanted it, but I think it will be even better to have 8k to do stuff to it. The fact that it has a front plate bugs me but I've got 5 license plate tickets in the last year so maybe it's a good thing. I'm also going to have alcantara inserts put in the front seats.
These are pictures that the dealer emailed me.

^^^^ Sorry just had to quote that. [:p]
Car looks good. I hate front plates too.
An A4 guy did alcantara inserts on his car which is the same color inside and out if I'm not mistaken. Think he said the cost was around $1000 for everything. Search and you should be able to find the post.

Hey SBGirl, look what i found, maybe you can get a good deal on carbon fiber trim still if you look into this post
http://www.audiworld.com/forum/a4gen2.html
Actually i couldn't post the exact post, but if you scroll down you'll see someones thread about someone selling trim, and it says that CVT_A4 is selling his carbon fiber trim for $600

$600 for the carbon fiber trim is good deal as checked with vagparts earlier, the price was around $1,000 a year ago. Perhaps, the price is further up now with the strong UK dollar recently.

Do a search here or on VWvortex.......I swear someone just posted that they wanted to trade their Aluminum trim for "dark wood"

It would make my day if I could get you to admit that aluminum and carbon fiber is at least ONE good thing about the B7[;)]

Ok ok! I wish I had the option on my B6 to get alcantara and carbon fiber. That was kind of stupid to not offer both options. It's nice that they are doing that for the B7's[;)]

Damn I was hoping for a real consession. To both of our surprise alcantara/cf are not being offered on the B7 either. You can only have the aluminum w/ the alcantara on the B7 as well[mad]

I thought they were going to change that. Kind of stupid on Audi's part.
The RS4 is one good thing about the B7's[;)]
I do think the B7 is salvagable with some mods. I think lowering it will alot more important cosmetically than it was on the B6. And some colors work alot better. Silver and black I think are the best. I just can't imagine a white B7.
Someone just needs to make one pretty for me so I can change my mind. [wrench]

Saw a new Black/black/carbon S4 at a local dealer today and that color combo is awesome!
The wheel gap did not look remotely as bad as some of the pics have shown either. I don't know if it's all black blending in or just bad angles on these photos, but it's really not all that bad.
Back to the original topic, congrats on the aluminum trim[up] good choice.

$1400, thats nuts, its only a $300 option on the car itself
