View Full Version : Has anyone blacked out their window trim?

The chromed window trim around a black S4, to me, detracts a little from the car. I was thinking about blacking out the trim and wanted to know if anyone has done this or checked into it before?

the option at hand is buying or trading the trim from a 1.8t, but it's way to expensive and unrealistic. Glass has to be broken to do it i heard.

So you can't just buy the trim piece and replace the current trim? Why does Audi put chrome trim on their S models? I don't know of any other make that does that. I think, especially on a black car, it really takes the sportiness away from the car; especially when you start adding wheels and lowering it, etc.

if you put wheels with a nice silver lip it'll look really good.

I am just worried if I do a dark-faced (trying to decide between black and dark gray) wheel with a polished lip on a black car there is going to be too much going on with the chrome trim on the windows. Most of the darkwheels with polished lips I have seen have been on either A4's or ligh-colored S4's.

It'll actually complement the wheels very nicely... especially if you leave the mirrors...
While I agree with you that I'd rather it be black or at least an option to choose between the 2, it's not something I'd invest in changing or change my rim design for...

Just talked to the dealer and they said they could change all of the trim for my car for one easy payment of $2,650.25--Do you think they would do $2,650 even?

Wow what a bargain. [:D]
Funny thing is that A4 1.8T owners want the chrome trim. I personally do not like the chrome trim either, but I do like the polished side mirrors.

By the way, I wanted to do this as well. Once I put the new wheels on though I liked the look much more.

Not yet. I have an appointment Wednesday at Group5. I have been trying to get in touch with the guy at PureMS, but he has not returned my call. I talked to him once and he said this Saturday.
