I'm looking at getting suspension for my S4 and at this point I am leaning toward one of the Stasis kits (either Motor Sport or Track Sport) but I wanted to get anyone else's opinion that tracks their B6 S4. Anyone know much about Stasis, 2Bennet (I think they use H&R),H&R CO kit....quality/value, spring rates, ride height and camber plates (is it really important to have this with Quattro)?

Thanks.

For track suspension on Audis you cannot get any better than Stasis. Their stuff is amazing. I have their basic street sport kit. That track sport kit is nuts. Remote resivoirs, Ohlins parts, any spring rate, etc... Go with Stasis, but be prepaired to pay a lot.

How do you like the Track Sport package relative to stock. Do you think the Motor Sport package is worth the extra $2k or does it just depend on how often I plan on tracking the car? I am really just trying to decide between the two packages, unless someone thinks there is a better setup.

I can't think of any company that makes suspension that even comes close to Stasis for Audis.

I'm not really sure of all the differences between the packages. How often you will be at the track should really be the deciding factor in that decision.

Talk to Jeremy at Matrix Integrated (http://www.matrixintegrated.cc). They are a Stasis dealer and they know their stuff. Highly recomended. I bought my street sport kit from them.

If you don't want all the little adjustments that the Stasis can give you. There is also KW Suspension Variant 3's. I haven't heard a lot of news about them on S4's yet, but people have seemed to like them on BMW's and A4's from what I recall. Check them out at kwsuspension.com (http://www.kwsuspension.com) .

Hey Tex,

How much tracking will you do with the S4?
If quite a few track days then I'd definitely recommend the MotorSport Ohlins setup. This will be able to adequately support you on track days. As well, it's just that much finer of a damper(some say smoother than stock actually, but able to handle dramatically better than stock).

If you'll only track once or twice a year then you may want to look at the TrackSport/Koni setup, which is customized for the way you want to drive, the car to handle, etc.

STaSIS suspensions(and brakes and diffs for that matter) are all customized specifically for each platform. That is not to say that H&R, KW, 2B, etc, aren't...but certainly not the extent that STaSIS products are. The fact that STaSIS' shop is located in the paddocks of Infineon Raceway says a lot; they are constantly testing and re-testing, trying new valving, rebound(and compression) settings, different spring rates, etc. They are seeking the ultimate setup.

We are the West Coast STaSIS dealer so please let me know if you have any questions---we are more than happy to help.

Best regards,
Jeremy

PS--Thx for the link Kris. :)

A couple points of clarifications 1) I don't own them all anymore 2)it was all using debt--it's not like I am made of money.

Any closer to deciding on STaSIS TrackSports vs MotorSports Jonathan?

My pals on the "other" B6 S4 forum mostly agree that the stock suspension works pretty well for the B6 S4 on the track. Some folks are definitely in the STaSIS camp, but that is NOT a cheap option. The one person I know that is tracking a KW V3 setup is "J Carp" over on AW. You might want to check-in with him as to the effectvieness of the V3s on the track. He's very experienced and has reported very positive results (although he is playing with backing off the bump and rebound from very stiff settings). I'm very happy with my KW V3s on my little track car, but it is a much lighter vehicle (and I'm just a recreational beginner at HPDE tracking). Good luck!

I have the KW v3's and I like them a lot. I have the rear nailed as far as ride, but the fronts still need to be adjusted. Overall they can go from much softer than stock to much firmer so there is a significant amount of adjustability.
