I went down there when I got home around 4:30 but all I could see is the boats.
Those ferry boat captains really saved them.

Supposedly the plane flew threw a flock of birds damaging both engines. SOP for an engine failure is to choke it out (literally shut it off) and land ASAP on the nearest runway. Since both engines were damaged and on fire, turning them both off was not an option and I'm reading that what the Pilot did was nothing short of spectacular... landing the plane in the Hudson in one piece, the pilot is one BAMF!!!

It's nuts around here right now. Constant sirens, there are ambulances from every where going to the ferry docks

Ex Airforce Pilot and expert glider. Those passengers were very lucky to have that pilot.
